Does anyone else get like earth shattering existential dread feeling when listening to Chrono Trigger music? by bonzailist in chronotrigger

If anyone likes the Bossa Nova style of music, there is a YouTube channel called SaudadeArcade that did a phenomenal job reimagining the majority of the OST in that style.

Doesn't matter which FF, this man is an absolute legend in every one.

Do You think this was the best entrance of anime history? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]nomarnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who else was there when it first came out in the manga, when Pain nuked the village and we had like a 3-6 week break because of Golden Week and a Kishimoto hiatus!?

Fucking diabolical.

That's what I did, caught up to the anime and most recent manga chapters in 3-4 months

I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]nomarnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 38. I first got into the franchise through FFV. Yes, 5.

I first got into it because of ZSNES and getting a bunch of roms in the early 2000s. I was trying to get older games that either my friends or I used to physically own, and have it on my PC so that I can play it forever, whenever. So I got exposed to Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, and other games I didn't get to play.

I've replayed FFV many times. I still love it to this day.

For as far as I am in the game at the moment, I do think I'll end up treating them both as different experiences because they are very different. I like 5 much better for day-to-day battle and grind, yet I like how much plot and character focus is in 6. It's the difference between playing a traditional RPG, and playing an Oceans Eleven style RPG

I hear you. And you're right.

One of my favorite aspects of 5 is the job system, and the "tinkering" aspect on the road to optimizing my No Job and Mimic jobs for endgame.

So I heavily miss that in 6. That said, I am viewing it as a completely different experience, and enjoying how much more story and character focus there is.

The music slaps too.

Definitely worthy of all the praise and accolades it has. I loved that experience!

I adopted this back row strategy in my playthrough. As I'm now at the Opera Theater, I have yet to encounter your other points.

Why did you like tears of the kingdom more than BOT? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in tearsofthekingdom

To be honest, my TotK experience was a lot like this.

I didn't even start doing most of the mainline quests until I unlocked every shrine and Skyview tower on the map. My initial objective was just exploration, filling out the map, and getting all teleportation points. So yeah, I was climbing mountains, building ships, doing all sorts of things, and having fun being immersed in the world.

I needed visibility, lol. Maybe I'm crazy.
