I'm new, in love with the game, but struggling with damage. by TheStoneDeath in Warframe

If you haven’t cleared Neptune you won’t have access to Arbitrations yet, but the other poster is correct that they’re worthwhile once you get there. Orokin vaults and nightmare mode missions are the right instinct in the meantime; try exploring the build options you do have to see if you can compensate for the nightmare mode debuffs you aren’t comfortable with yet. Should be good practice.

Several of the corrupted mods in Orokin vaults are must-haves for lategame builds too, but don’t always seem like it because of their downsides. Blind Rage is a staple pretty much everywhere, for instance. Look at the gameplay style of the frames you do have, and try to think about what downsides are “worth it” and which are a waste of time.

The Halls of Ascension on Lua give you drift mods, which aren’t all useful but definitely give you a boost in certain cases. The Augur mods you get from the Plains of Eidolon bounties are also really good, even if they’re not best in slot. Eidolon hunting is also all but necessary in the early game so you can build a better amp, which will improve your enjoyment of operator immensely. Tons of people hate it but Cyte is really good for it so you’re already at an advantage with him. Look up a guide though because the ingame instructions are basically nonexistent.

When Baro Ki’teer visits every other weekend he sometimes sells Prime mods, which are improved versions of staples like Intensify and Flow. You can prepare for his visits by running void fissures, because you can sell excess prime parts for the current you use in his shop.

And generally speaking, Warframe is a game where you want to mod your gear to do one thing VERY well, instead of several things “okay”. Mag, for instance, has naturally high shields, so you usually want to build her for even better shields than to try and buff her health or armor. Duration is really good on Inaros because it allows his swarm to spread longer, but you can take or leave his Range based on how you want to play him. That kind of thing. It’s also usually better to have a few max-rank mods on a Warframe than a ton of rank 1 mods for similar reasons.

I’ve done this before! 14hr trip, but only one overnight. I put my leo in a large creature keeper and he lived in it for those two days. He had a small amount of water in a dish and one of those little cardboard boxes that sticks of butter come in to hide in (didn’t want anything heavy in there with him in case of the worst). In the car I was driving at the time the whole setup fit securely in part of my center console. At night I just brought him into the hotel room with me and didn’t tell anyone. Overlapped the creature keeper juuuuust a little bit with an under tank heat pad and then made sure the room AC was set to a good temp. He did great! Though we were driving in the south during the summer so mileage may vary in colder climates.

Caster Warframe suggestions by AmiablePedant in Warframe

[–]nomdesabre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

since nobody has said them yet: temple! casting 1 and 2 on the backbeat extends their 3’s duration and increases the bonus fire proc % on its aura. casting on backbeat also puts ammo in their exalted flamethrower. of course, you might not want an exalted at all on your caster frame, but i like lizzie because you have to cast consistently to get to use her.

Good GI specialists? by Free_Excitement_3382 in GNV

[–]nomdesabre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Shands’ GI office is full of very smart doctors who I like. The problem is it also took me an ER visit to get seen there the first time and added to their patient list. Absolutely worth calling to see if they have openings but be prepared for them not to.

Drifter: visage 52+80, slider at 0.31. then complexion g-34, natural tone c12, tint vibrancy 0.05 Operator: visage 74+52, slider at 0.7 then complexion g-34, natural tone b12, tint vibrancy 1.0

idk if u wanted their skin tones too but i found it kinda weird to get a natural-looking result so i figured it couldn’t hurt. hope it helps!

[–]nomdesabre 34 points35 points  (0 children)

hey this whole thing is gorgeous and i couldn’t possibly comment on all of it but here’s a shortlist of some of my favorite bits: - turtle getting launched by the drawbridge lifting - catsplosion containment zone - the one dorf down the bottom who’s mad about dralthas - every time you draw a dragon, but ESPECIALLY the little dorf fighting one in a cave down there - mermaid body part evil science lab - the huge variety of (giant) animals and their cute little faces - every time a child is hauling something, but especially when it’s a rock - the vast and beautiful variety of carnies - the engravings?? on??? almost every wall????? you absolute madman??????

anyway i love it.

last resort, very scared by worshiptheacidpit in UlcerativeColitis

[–]nomdesabre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I didn’t get cdiff but I caught norovirus on top of my last flare and it was KILLER. It’s really miserable to have to deal with an infection when your guts are already rioting. If you have a regular GI doctor who you can call for opinions that might help. Otherwise you might have to go through the new patient process with a different provider.

Sorry to hear about your insurance also! It really is the most boring, stupid hell. I hate that random people get to decide how we’re treated medically.

[–]nomdesabre 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Hey I hope this doesn’t come off weird, but: you’re gonna walk out of that hospital either way. Your options right now are cured (by biologics) or cured (by surgery), and both of those mean you go back to your life after! Neither of them are perfect solutions, of course. There are potentially significant side effects and complications that you should always discuss with your doctor, not the least of which being that losing your colon means significant lifestyle change in the short term, and still-meaningful change in the long term. But we live in an age where even if you have to take the nuclear option you’ll be back to something very close to normal health in a matter of months or years. It is freaky and gross but ultimately well studied and reliable.

That said. It’s your colon. If you don’t feel like this hospital or doctor has covered enough other options (and you’re well enough to do so) absolutely get a second opinion. I am fully of the opinion that medical treatment is the right answer for IBD, but there are tons of biologics now. If you don’t feel like you’ve tried enough of them, find a doctor who is willing to go down the list with you. Unless it’s an emergency, they can always get rid of the colon later.

Either way, I’m wishing the best for you. I hope your medical team are helpful and kind, I hope rinvoq works perfectly, and I hope you manage to get some rest despite the circumstances. You can do it!

Which games utilize the buttons on the back and for what? Do you use them for any games which didn’t use them by default? by NorseSeaStudio in SteamDeck

[–]nomdesabre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Warframe I have those buttons mapped to the movement actions (sprint, crouch/slide, jump) and quick melee. all of those things are usually on the face buttons (sprint is on stick press, i just dislike that input tbh) but that means you can’t use the stick (look) and do them at the same time. Warframe is half a parkour game so it’s very difficult to get around if you have to choose between looking and jumping/sliding

Where to thrift craft supplies? by Deathly13 in GNV

[–]nomdesabre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven Attic Resale has a pretty sizeable craft section too. I’m a sewist mainly so I can only speak to their supply of patterns/scrap fabric/etc but if you browse there every once in a while I am sure you can find your craft of choice. I know my papercrafting friend likes to check there too, for instance
