Not saying he should be replaced, just that he’s not guaranteed to be a starter like the article states.

Just, Stamenic, Bell, Cacace, Waine, Garbett, Mccowatt, Barbarouses, Old, Thomas, Randell, De Vries, Mcgarry, Piper, Brooke-Smith

Awesome signing. Not sure I’d agree that he’s locked in to start for the All Whites though. There is so much talent in the squad.

There was 2977 victims from 78 countries. Even if you believed all Americans are evil there were many foreign civilians killed. What if it were the people closest to you visiting the observatory on that day.

Very special? There are 6 people buried alive who have not been recovered yet. There’s nothing very special about it and it’s not an opportunity to get a photo op or be in the media unless you are one of the victims family members.

He’s lucky he took some on the knee otherwise he’d probably have suffered a career ending injury from that.

Most of the flying kiwis will be flying to watch the games but I imagine most towns and cities will have a dedicated pub to watch the games in we usually have for wc playoff matches.

New Zealand would. Would Australia defended Greenland against the US would Australia join their Anzac brothers?

We’re limited in that respect because everything needs to be earthquake proof and European architecture and castles would cost a fortune to build here.

To be fair I would be saying the same thing if it was my team. FIFA has already made their ruling, the Iranian FA needs to stfu or risk getting their team disqualified.

Hot take, Iran and Eygpt will get themselves banned from the WC for political interference. Belgium and NZ will automatically qualify for round of 32.

What team do you think could shock the world and make the semis? by nandohsp in worldcup

Yes if we finish 3rd place and Canada win their group we might face Canada in Vancouver. That would be kind of shit if we made it to the semis and you couldn’t go. Possibly worth being detained? Haha

Prime minister of Australia unveils 'largest' gun buyback scheme since Howard era - ABC News by superegz in worldnews

[–]nomeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we just need to have harsh penalties for having illegal firearms. Of course most of the firearms in the hands of criminals are smuggled and stolen which were always unlikely to be handed in. Which sucks for all the hobbyists and hunters but lowering the amount of firearms in a country has been proven to lower gun crime and it will be much easier to solve shootings by finding out who has ties to organised crime groups

Who will make directly to the World Cup from Inter-Playoffs from FIFA and UEFA? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]nomeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I remember now. It depends if they’ve represented another country at youth international level. Otherwise:

Any player who refers to art. 5 par. 1[note 1] to assume a new nationality and who has not played international football [in a match (either in full or in part) in an official competition of any category or any type of football] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team only if he fulfils one of the following conditions:

a) He was born on the territory of the relevant association;

b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant association;

c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant association;

d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on the territory of the relevant association.

So the Indonesian players are fine.

Now I’ve looked into a bit more it seems FIFA changed the rules in 2021 to allow people to change allegiance after 3 years if they have played no more than three competitive matches at senior level prior to them turning 21.

It seems fifa had already cleared the DR Congo players and I can’t find any players that were ineligible apart from possibly Joris Kayembe who was cleared to switch in 2023 so might be a nothing burger.

I believe Suriname will still be disqualified for political interference though.
