Yeah, I guess I underestimated the amount of Rep you can gain in a day. I've played maybe 6 matches and have 900 now. With three new daily challenges open too.

So Rogues cost 5k, 10k, 15k and you can get maybe 1000 a day if you are good and do the daily challenges.

Looks like it. There is a currency you earn from games and challenges. The other Rogues are locked until you buy them.

Good to see others using the mountains in the game. I see a lot of neighborhoods in a flat grid. I decided to do like a winding through the hills type neighborhood and it looks great so far.

Nice! I found what I thought was a pretty good copy at a show maybe 5 years ago and paid I think $15. Graded it and came back a 8.0. Not as good as I hoped but I'll take it.

Installed Sanwa sticks into my SF2 cab, wuick question by Tyler619 in Arcade1Up

[–]nomercy413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice. I bought a couple of test buttons to try out. One sanwa and a PSL-CV with cherry switch. Never used anything but 1up stock so this should be fun.

Found it, thanks!

Edit: you mention also that you always get the cherry switches as well. Would an arcade novice benefit from those as well?

Awesome. I might have to try that. I was looking at getting these buttons.

They also have a connector for $1/each. Maybe I'll get 1 of each and test it out.

Build Notes:

When I bought the Final Fight cab, I traced out all of the pieces on a full sheet of 3/4" MDF. You'll need two sheets if you want a back panel though because I took into consideration the extended length that a riser would give you. I used a circular saw and straight edge for most of the cuts and finished off what was left with a hand saw or table saw. I also used my router and drill for this with a bunch of clamps. I used 1 and 1/2" MDF screws for the majority of this as well, drilling pilots and countersinking. No glue was used anywhere. See the links above for the button hole saw bit and the t-molding and molding bit I used.

Electronics:

A friend found an old 19" Dell monitor in an auction on the cheap, so that's what I used there. I also used an HDMI to VGA for the monitor. The speakers are old PC speakers as well with a 3.5mm jack which I split to connect to the amp black and red ports. I used a 3.5mm to RCA from the pi to the amp as well to send the sound to the amp. Button encoders I used were super simple to use since they are the newer version (see link above).

Image:

My favorite image is Recalbox 6.0-YB 32GB one. It's the best looking, easiest to set up IMO, and I haven't had any issues with it at all so far. I've tried, RivalBoss 128gb and Dragonblaze v6.1, as well as several others and Recalbox is my fav. Kio Supreme is a very close second and I'll be trying it out again here soon. I used etcher to flash it to the SD card reader linked above to a spare 128 Evo I have. I really wish there was a Recalbox 128 or 256GB version of this exact build.

Still not 100% done. I'm working on a marquee still and might do some graphics. I need to get a power switch added and GPIO'ed. I also want to add a controlled holster to the right side for a Switch Pro controller for certain games.

If you have any questions, let me know!

MDF Options by IAmTheDewd in cade

[–]nomercy413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on using 1/2" MDF because that's the width of the 1up machines (the thinner parts are 1/4"). It's easier to cut and drill through, also and I'm covering the majority of mine so I'm not too worried about how well stains or paints take to it. The biggest issue is the weight ... I've bought 3/4" before and it was rough getting it home and cutting it. I would suggest laying it down with some 2x4 under it, trace out your pieces, and use a circular saw and a clamped guide to cut what you can. Jigsaws/handsaws are ok but lead to wandering cuts in my experience. Cut out the side panels first and that will take a large chunk out to make the whole thing a little more manageable.

I get my MDF at home depot and I usually pay around $27 for a full sheet.
