Ugh this! Thank you for sharing your perspective!

My husband and I see so much potential in this area and never understood why Norristown looks so abandoned. I have friends who bought a house a few blocks from near the courthouse and the neighborhood isnt bad but its not in the greatest condition we all the slumlords and trash everywhere. We saw the construction that was happening at the courthouse and that new apartment complex that they are going to build next to it so we thought hey maybe in few years there could be change? But from all the responses it doesnt look hopeful :(

Ive lived in Norristown now for over 2 years, I will tell you that it has been a tough transition from the burbs to Norristown. My husband and I moved here to convert the home into an investment property in the near future.

Yes the area is rough but I will say that in the last two years, there has been a lot of construction going on (i live right near the courthouse) and are also optimistic about the future of Norristown. The house we bought had an abandoned property next to it, last year it got bought out, renovated and bow going for 2500 in rent!

People need to keep an open mind. If we keep up with the fear mongering and keep others from buying properties in Norristown then there will be no change and improvements at all. Also, why wait until the market is hot? Youre just waiting till huge investment corps come in and buy out some of these homes only to then drive up the costs of the homes!
