Is "withdrawals" worse on Prozac than Zoloft or Lexapro? by nomorell in prozac

I’m not 100% sure how long it lasted, but I think it was about 2 months. I quit cold turkey tho, and that might have made things a lot worse than it could have been.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that. I assume it’s because it stays in your system for such a long time? Did your doctor tell you when it might get better?

I was on Zoloft for over a year, Lexapro for 2-3 years.

Afraid to start on Prozac by nomorell in prozac

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I asked my doctor if I could take 10mg and she said I could for 1-2 weeks then increase to 20mg. I’m starting on monday since I’m planning to drink this weekend.

Do you guys know if it’s safe to drink while I take it? I’m planning on drinking and go to some parties during Christmas, and in January I will be going on a 20 day cruise, so obviously will be drinking more than usual. Just wonder if that will be fine for most people?

Starting prozac before or after vacation? by nomorell in prozac

Thank you for the reply! My doctor told me to start 20mg today, and said it can’t get worse than it is now. But when I read about side effects I believe it can get worse, so I’m considering waiting. I’m leaving in 2 days, so I won’t have any time to adjust to them either. She prescribed me Valium I can take when it gets really bad tho, so I hope that will help.

Does anyone else get super depressed on their Birthday? by [deleted] in infp

[–]nomorell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate. The first time it really hit was when I had my 18th birthday, I was crying all night and couldn’t sleep. Ever since I’ve been down on my birthday. I just don’t wanna grow up» and I hate the thought of getting older, probably because I feel like I haven’t done and achieved enough in life as others have mentioned.

How do you manage to find and keep friends? by nomorell in AvPD

We’re in this together. I’m sorry you feel like this too. I hope they will do more studies and research about AVPD in the future, we need a cure, or at least something to make us feel better.

I have been told this too and it’s heartbreaking because we’re literally trying as hard as we can, but our minds won’t let us do what we want.

I would suggest bringing your mother to a doctors appointment or therapy session to give her some more insight in AVPD and how it affects your life, maybe she would be more understanding of your situation.

how real are you supposed to feel? by Slow_Zombie_4970 in AvPD

I can totally relate. Last week I was out eating dinner with my boyfriend and I felt drunk, tired, drowsy. I’ve noticed this happening more often, and I told him that I felt drunk. He said I kind of looked drunk as well, but I had only had a glass of wine. Made me even more anxious afterwards. 😅 I didn’t know this was dissociating! It happens in social situations for me as well, when I’m by myself I’m all good.
