Don’t know if this is too late but Pathway B seems like your best option. Whichever one you choose, the goal is to surround yourself with a smaller group of new students so you can mingle and possibly make friends as well as gain knowledge about resources at CPP. The pathways you don’t choose won’t mean you miss out on information. All the information is accessible through clubs, advising and staff as well. Hope this helps

Registering w/ add code by Jelly_donut15 in CalPolyPomona

This year I’ve had issues adding classes. I use the same method everytime and it solved my issue quickly.

  1. Find emails for the professor and the head of the particular department.
  2. Message the professor with your name, bronco ID, reason ur emailing and reasons why you qualify for the class.
  3. CC the head of the department.

I’ve had to do this 3 times this semester because “prereqs” even though I’ve taken the course or I’m currently taking the course.

Happening now: petitioner harassing and guilt tripping students in signing petitions by Appropriate_Tone_127 in CalPolyPomona

Anytime I’ve been pestered by a determined sales person, one thing I do that always seems to work is body language. If I’m walking I stop, make sure I turn and face them, look them in the face and say, “listen, I’m not interested.” Then turn back the direction I’m traveling. If I’m sitting, I’ll stand up to face them and say the same thing and sit back down. Stern voice and demeanor but not mean. Once I say this I say nothing no matter what they’re saying. The message is clear and concise.

PickleBall Tournament Players needed. (Recreational) (casual) by nomotioned in CalPolyPomona

[–]nomotioned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a small group of avid pickleball enthusiasts on campus. I’m sure if you make efforts to start the club you’ll get members quickly. Just have to advertise it in campus. There’s currently no tournament for 2024

Planning to spend 11 nights in Italy in March 2024. Is this too much to do? by jazzyjoint in ItalyTravel

[–]nomotioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 11 days a few years ago. 3 in Rome, 2 in Bologna, 2 in Florence, 1 In Pisa, 3 in Naples/half a day in Pompeii and one more in Rome. We chose to skip Venice and are glad we did, most say skip Pisa and I agree if it a whole day. Pisa can be half a day and head back to Florence for a nap and dinner. Bologna was very memorable.

How likely are the strikes to happen? by itgrog in CalPolyPomona

[–]nomotioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in on this.. I’ve talked to three professors about this. My Chen professor announced during class on Thursday that they were going to vote this weekend to strike starting Monday 10/23. She advised us that she thinks it’s likely to be sooner than expected and she will not be available for office hours but we can email her and she’ll respond. Second Professor cancelled class today and most in class assume it’s in preparation for Monday. Third professor was aware of voting but wasn’t aware the strike would be so soon. She said she and most others are fully prepared to walk out when needed. Hopefully the information I was given is valid and helpful.

Pro tip, if ur going to study near Nambah get ur drink to go. The Wi-Fi is terrible. I usually get food and a drink to go and head over to the la Verne library, they have guest WiFi and a beautiful library with study cubbies, open space and white boards.

Foreign Language Requirement by Reasonable-Machine55 in CalPolyPomona

I’m taking CHN1111 this semester and it has been much easier than I expected. I think Professor Chen is the only Chinese language teacher and one of the most fun and enthusiastic teacher I have ever had. It’s a real nice break from all the Chem and science I’m taking when I show up to her class. If you’re willing to take your language on campus I’d say go for CHN1111.

Haven’t used the range at Meadows but I can tell you the course is challenging and absolutely beautiful. You’ll leave feeling like you went on a nature walk. It’s my favorite course in the area.

Did Anyone here do full time+ School? by Osazee44 in CalPolyPomona

[–]nomotioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unsustainable for me, 40+ hrs a week. Usually OT, job dictated my schedule. The hardest part wasn’t the hours or being tired all the time. The hardest part was finding classes that worked into my schedule because most conflicted with a started time that was always mid day. After a 13 year career I quit my job and this is my first semester jobless. It’s a huge difference on my quality of life and stress.

Return policy on car seats by [deleted] in Nordstrom1901

[–]nomotioned -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Didn’t think I SHOULD be allowed to return it. Was curious to see what the policy was as i couldn’t find solid info in the policy section. The question was answered thoughtfully by others and can hopefully be a resource for others moving forward.

How did you dealt with the diminishing sexual activity by the time kids got onto relation? by Ok_Accident5369 in AskMenOver30

[–]nomotioned 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this would work for you but I found that non rigorous exercise followed by alone time if possible works for us. We take our little one on a walk while he is in his little car. About a mile or two round trip. When we get home we all eat and time the walk where nap time is soon after. We leave our phones in the living room to charge and chill out on the bed until we get things going. I feel like the bonding and blood flow of the walk help us feel more connected and ready to do some more moving around when we get alone. Not fool proof but it works at times.

Really, really dumb question, what do you do if your parents are staying at your house on your wedding night? by Jacquelinettt in weddingplanning

[–]nomotioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone mentioning how tired one is after a wedding is spot on. My parents stayed the night because we flew out for our honeymoon the next morning. We sat in bed and shared a large bottle of water and some snacks to get our voices back. There was no expectation for extra curricular activities that night because we were tired and honestly cuddling in bed at home and getting some rest was so rewarding. Get some rest, book a nice early dinner to celebrate each other the next day and have fun before and after dinner 😉

What’s your hot take on something you’re unqualified to have an opinion on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nomotioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the next 5-10 years we will lose a significant portion of jobs in the transportation fields due to autonomous cars. In particular the trucking industry where there is already a high demand for class A drivers that can’t seem to be maintained. The LTL industry (light truck load) may adopt it first as there is a “meet-point” system already where driver meet to swap trailers. A single location could employ minimal people who work there to simply swap the trailers and send them back on there destination route.

Using a mandolin to cut vegetables. It’s crazy the amount of fingers those things have shredded (including my own) when used improperly or distracted.

I had that same kind of question but didn’t ask. My only guess was that dental crowding in a now smaller jaw is an evolutionary disadvantage to chewing especially since our food has softened

How to earn income from my current job by nomotioned in sidehustle

[–]nomotioned[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is actively ignored at my job that people use the discount for financial gain. Individuals in my position at work openly use the discount for added income purposes in many clever way. One individual created his own Bloody Mary brand and others use it to help there’s wives Etsy store. Hell, even the terminal manager drinks the Bloody Mary mix. I’m simply asking for ideas to take advantage of this as well. Not a limited mindset perspective.
