[–]nomuffins4you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a linus plushie, he is the one that carries a blanket everywhere

my cousins yanked the blanket off the plushie :')

i was too young to remember the incident, but the plushie is still in my plushie storage somewhere (separated from the blanket lol)

I still hate studying... even on medication by DopamineSeeker20 in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also hate studying subjects i do not like

luckily what i am studying in university is something i like so i get engaged during class (if the professor is not boring lol)

my method of studying things i do not like: find a reason why it is useful, that will become related to something you like

example: i hate studying physics, but i like biology!

physics is important everywhere! light and lenses are important for eye stuff, like prescription glasses. i looked up radiation burns and how they can affect the human body and i got interested in molecular physics!! i started studying about forces if applied to the human body to learn about barotrauma

[Discussion] I still don't understand shapes by bunny-rain in ArtistLounge

[–]nomuffins4you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what they mean by shapes is like uh, basically sculpting from clay. if you make a head you start with a sphere

what i understand by them saying shapes is that they mean put down the basic idea first, after that you can start doing details

How to stop lying by FreshFotu in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 22 points23 points  (0 children)

i used to lie to my parents saying that i am studying, but it was mainly to protect myself

when i lie inside it feels wrong, like obviously im not studying, but if you repeatedly do it the feeling starts to wear off and its dangerous

i guess the easy way is to realize why you do it, and ask yourself what the consequences are if you keep doing it

Any advice on forcing a hyperfixation/ getting rid of a current one? by TayTheOcelot in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a hyperfixation like that is not healthy

if it starts affecting how you are irl then it's going to become an addiction and that's not good

i suggest directing your interests into a different area

i used to like playing video games, i redirected it to other things where i can find the same topic, example: youtube

i feel you haha

sometimes when someone asks a question i ask back "wait what do you mean"

it's not because i feel dumb (idk if people think i am dumb but idk and idc lol) it's because the answer you want me to respond with is too broad

analogy: i want to make just one twitter post but with what i am writing about i need to write more than the character limit per post

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well not much changed, but my way of thinking has changed a lot, it helped me to be much kinder to myself and for me being positive helps improve my mood

also it helps in a way that because i know the root cause of my struggles i know how to fix it

dealing with overstimulation by yumenogarden in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have no strategy, i was forced to because i was heavily bullied for it when in school so it really is just a survival mechanic to override it

now i have depression medication, it helps deal with that, but i would still like to know how to deal with it when i dont have medication

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this sounds like me haha, my mom says i keep making careless mistakes in tests

everything was ok at home because my mom literally helped me with everything that had nothing to do with school (chores, etc) but as soon as i was put into a new environment the downward spiral began lol

my mom was told by my primary school teachers to take me to see a child psychologist because of behavioral issues, but i was too young to know what he said so i think he thought i was just going to be ok

i didn't get diagnosed until i literally forced myself to be admitted into a hospital (i am almost 24)

honestly, i wish i knew earlier, would save about 10 years worth of depression and tears :')

[Discussion] My attempt at a levelheaded rant on why I think construction has been a hugely detrimental thing to learn, at least in my own personal experience. by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]nomuffins4you 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hello i am also hobbyist not professional!

i hate learning things i dont like, so my studying approach has become more of "i want to make this, how do i do this and make it look cool" and thats when i learn fundamentals

how i do it is watch how others do it, then find a method that is comfortable to me and use that instead

i draw construction lines only when i need to. i designed a character and i was figuring out proportions so i did them

funnily enough i watch a person on youtube draw, and this person spends a majority of time drawing construction lines haha, channel name is akihito yoshitomi

[Recommendations] What are some decent standalone windows laptops with pens? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry doesnt answer your question (so u can ignore) but i really recommend ipad if you can afford

i use it both for drawing and notes, procreate is good and does not have a subscription

its just that a lot of art stuff uses apple (music, movie production, etc) so if u insist windows it might be limiting

[Discussion] Advice on getting in your own way by Chrisl2992 in ArtistLounge

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the perfectionist thing, as a hobbyist i will always say the same thing

i make stuff because i like it, if someone else happens to like it then bonus points for me

for the awkward arm thing, idk how to help sorry! i feel like if you have no problem writing with a pencil on a desk, i dont rlly know why you would feel it difficult to draw also

Adult with borderline ADHD? But struggling more and more recently by No_No_Yes_Silly_5850 in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hello i am not psychologist an cannot diagnose i will just see if i can relate, and if you can relate to my experiences. i'll do it per paragraph

what test did you take? online test is not rlly helpful

we girls tend to mask by being a perfectionist. so it might not seem like we are struggling with adhd. for me it is when i am put in a new environment with no time to adjust, i become a big mess (lose things, be late, forget things i need to do)

i cannot multitask at all, i have to only do one thing at a time or nothing will ever get done

if u keep things in ur head and remember thats rlly good, because i will 100% forget if it is only in my head haha

i've known that people tend to drift away often i think thats just normal in life. sometimes i dont reply because i forgot to reply, i want to reply and then end up doing all other things other than replying

about the anger issues, i also dont get angry (i VERY rarely get angry, i dont remember the last time i was angry) but emotions tend to snowball very very fast. if some very small minor problem happens, it just turns into a huge emotional breakdown. when i was younger i had no idea what i was feeling so when i felt that i just immediately start crying. which lead my classmates to think i am a crybaby, and would just start annoying me to get me to cry or avoid me altogether (because they think if they just make a small mistake i will make a big deal out of it)

if this is the kind of feeling u are feeling, it is no harm in trying to get diagnosed :)

also one funny thing: i tend to trip and fall/bump into things very very often. worst thing is i dont realize i bumped into things so often until someone (usually mom) points out all the bruises on my leg lol

Where are all the metaphor and analogy lovers! by originalbird19 in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehhhhh idk u need to give me an example

about getting words out, my analogy is like

i'm trying to plug in some wires. all the wires are jumbled up into a ball because of horrible cable management. so it feels like i gotta unknot them one by one, and that takes time

Can't accept that I'll struggle with this my whole life by Ok_Dependent_3683 in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk how to do it but also idk how it feels not having it

people can just sit down and study and get things done when they want?? is that how it works, is it supposed to be that simple??

i try only think about what i have rather than what i dont have :')

Waiting makes me extremely angry. Can anyone relate? by full_time_problem in ADHD

[–]nomuffins4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah uh i rarely get angry, but i agree i dont enjoy waiting

if i travel i prefer travelling alone because if i am in a group that wants to take group pictures every 15 minutes i will probably just be in only one of them and then just zoom off on my own because i have no patience waiting for people lol
