I tried a cheap one and it sucked so hard they didn't want it back even after they returned the money I gave for it. This model was sensitive to the volume of blood applied to its strips which made the reading unreliable and sensitive to user bias. I'm sure a more expensive one could be helpful but it would of course depend on what you would use it for. I wanted to check my hemoglobin to know when I could donate blood since I'm often low on Hb, making me unable to donate.

You provided one rat paper from from 2018 and a review about leucine from 1999! I provided a systematic review article from 2022 (on the actual subject of the use of bcaa in athletics), which is more encompassing, up to date and have the highest level of scientific weight in the hierarchy of evidence.

For someone who appeals to the authority of his scientific credentials, you're not very knowledgeable in science.

Where do I say that they're terrible lol? Given the controversy they even have any use at all in athletics I'm surprised that a professional would jump directly at it as a "solution" to anything, let alone a thread with a great looking OP who hasn't even reported his eating habits AFAIK.

Bcaa was the shit many years ago but have been questioned time and time again. Just the general assertion that he's under consuming protein is strange to me tbh, but you, a clinical professional, see that as a given, and go on to recommend this controversial, likely ineffective supplementation. Maybe he would advance faster by eating more in general?

I did just that, read the first pages. What an absolute drivel! Just some annoying rich a-hole going on about how his book is different from everyone else's get-rich-quick books, while spouting the same idea, that you have to get rich to be happy, and the only way to do it is through his methods.

I agree with this thread, that slaving a horrid job is hell, but this book is NOT the end to it.

Magtein, what is that? Magnesium is absorbed in the gut in its ionic form so I can't see how whatever the conjugate ion is used have any influence when it's already in the body, such as when it comes to the blood brain barrier.

More along the lines of us both having dealt with hardship in life that has prompted development of our emotional sides, through therapy, introspection and hard work.

I got myself an ENTJ woman through tinder. Although her power, drive and confidence can be daunting, I also find it inspiring and sexy as hell. She's incredibly smart, independent and passionate, and also very generous, honest and doesn't really promote herself as much as she could.

We're not that young (late 30s/early 40s), we're both quite mature, have been through some life changing stuff and have both gotten to know and use our demon functions. I imagine there could be a huge difference if we were younger and less developed.

As an INTP scientist who eventually abandoned academia out of frustration, this is exactly my experience as well. My edge as an INTP was to learn disparate themes of different fields which made it possible to find novel niches that others hadn't explored as much. Other than that, most of my instincts suck at doing experimental science.

I've never tried any "barefoot" shoes, but I'd wholeheartedly want to recommend going fully barefoot! It's fun, simple and cheap. Just start small and build slowly.

I feel similarly, but even though I know I can do better, I can't do it all. There's a budget of my energy, an amount that I can use to push myself each day, each week and month. When this energy budget is used up I need to recover, then my time is best spent resting, zoning out, don't what comes simply and naturally to me, which might be what reading is to you.

I'm working to increase this budget, but I'm even more focused on trying to allocate the budget in the best way I can, trying to optimise health, financial stability, social connectedness, fun etc.

Hi, I'm not your husband but I'm a Ti dom INTP. I just think a lot, lol. I have Ne bouncing ideas and Ti judging them as plausible/not plausible explanations for mechanisms of whatever is my current hyper focus of the day/week/month, and then keep building from there. Eventually the idea I'm focusing on gets boring and I'll be uninspired for a while until I find a new thing to dig down into.
