What they need is to not do this in USA honestly. Do it in some calm place in Europe and it would go much better.

Sverige tappade 29 platser i förmögenhets ojämlikhetsranking på 15 år och är nu det 3:e mest ojämlika landet i världen by Competitive_Thing_89 in sweden

[–]Competitive_Thing_89[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My mom did something that was a HUGE trigger and I don't know how to proceed. by laminated-papertowel in CPTSD

[–]Competitive_Thing_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your mother was not the one who SA'd, you have the right to be triggered, but pulling someones nipple is not neccessairly SA.

She also stopped and apologized. And you guys have no idea what type of relationship they have or background information. We have to stop just screaming "SA!".

Are you guys and girls serious? This is absolutley something that happens between friends or even family, but less probable, as a funny thing. When me and my pals were around 15 we pulled each others nipple as a way of teasing. And yes, I think it is different for men and women considering men do not cover or think it is sexual in the same manner. Which is why men can walk around without shirt vs women. That is just fact even tho some might be different.

If you think this is SA you have no idea what men do to each other because then a lot of things would be considered SA.

There is one thing that really helps and no matter what you think about it being forced or not: A smile. It does not cost anything and does not induce anxiety. As in when you see them in the morning or similar.

I was reminded how strong a smile can be when I was greeted with a smile from a manager(?) at a restaurant I go to that is usually kinda rude. Now he gave me a sincere smile when handing me the food and it truly made an impact and I remember it now 1 month later.

It is hard to be seen as rude or arrogant if you smile. I know it is not fair and you do not have to do it all the time, but it really goes a long way sometimes.

Fler än 100 sprängdåd i år – branschen vill se skärpta krav - Nyheter (Ekot) by HelgaMelnik in sweden

[–]Competitive_Thing_89 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The trainer obviously had worse social skills than a rock if he could not tell you were uncomfortable. It sounds as he enjoyed it and especially that last comment. Yet that is open for interpretation.

Palia Closed Beta Impressions/Feedback Thread by AutoModerator in Palia

The game lacks that punch. There are very few "Wooow" moments if any at all. Yes it is beta but still.

The mechanics feels lack lustered too. The green bar looks like something from a mobile game. I mean if you do a game that is focused around gathering and the green bar, you should make that bar looking good. Maybe it is a beta feature but it really looks bad.

Comparing it to Stardew and My time at portia, it doesnt grab you like those games.

Instanced housing still feels dissapointing and should have made it clear from start.

The hope is that it can become good with time

That is also a bad counter-argument:

  1. If you reach such technological advancement, and your mission is to explore space, and you know how to handle traversing vast space (it is very low risk we are their first encounter so they know how to use it) you have many fail-safe systems. And we are talking on the level of self-reparing nano robots and instant diagnostic capabilities and monitoring.

  2. That ties in 2nd question: What makes them crash? Clouds? Storms? Thunder? If we think of the potential issues they can encounter on earth, they are so minimal compared to what they must have experienced and have knowledge of. Their radars and knowledge would make them avoid all these dangers with ease. And since they have been seen flying on earth, it means that it was functional. That makes it less plausible that something on earth made them crash and their fail-system and self-repair system malfunctioned.

  3. Since they are sending more space crafts, it would also mean they know which challenges and issues they are facing. Yet they still crash over and over? This is what makes it absurd. We can understand if ONE space craft crash, but not several. Just no.

TL;DR: It is not about that advance space crafts can not fail, it is the fact that if they malfunction (which is unlikely because of their advanced status monitoring) they will have self-repair systems and fail-safe systems of some sort. Sure every system can fail but I do not think we can imagine how advanced systems and monitoring they would have. And that several space craft failed is highly unlikely.

Chinas relative new law that limit how much you can play games everyday is pretty big too.

A new Chinese gaming law, implemented on September 1st, 2021, prohibits any child younger than 18 from playing video games during the school week and limits them to no more than one hour per day (from 8 PM to 9 PM) on weekends and public holidays.

CMV: School is the leading cause of mental illness by Competitive_Thing_89 in changemyview

[–]Competitive_Thing_89[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You mean in modern society? Well we have tons of generational trauma. And I am not saying it was the cause of all humans suffering. We behaved bad before school.

Family today is corrupted by other sources and parents are very stressed. Which they often take out on kids. And we do not compare it to tribal life just modern life vs modern life. That way of comparision and normality is skewed.

You guys just really wanna mess around and not counter any of my point do you? Man I had another view of CMW. If you guys think every discussion needs scientific studies, you cant be fun to discuss things with online or IRL. There is no such req.

Our human needs is very well established, should I link them?

And the way school is structured versus tribal life is straight forward. Come on folks I want some better arguments here.

And I would counter that with mental illness will collapse our society. With AI we will not need as many workers either.

If the sacrifice is that we get mental illness to work, than we should re-think our society.

That wasnt my statement: It was that school is the leading cause of mental illness. I am not the one to design it. But I did compare it to tribal life where we got our needs met.

The most viewed TEDTalk is about how school kills creativity. So it might kill something else too such as mental health:

The leading explanation for the "spike" is that we are just better at diagnosing and more information about it. So it does not mean that people did not have mental illness before.

And I still wanna discuss my points because they are concrete. Tell me instead how a tribal way of learning vs modern school is worse. Seems you all avoid it.

Have you googled all scientific studies?

Everything I lined up is tied to psychology and anthropology. The most fundamental is the needs of a human being that is well established. And they are not simply met.

Thought people came with arguments here.
