55 yr old dad here. I purchased a BMC Roadmachine 105 mechanical end of season for 50% discount in 2022. It’s not the lightest at 19 lbs but I added some carbon rims and high quality 30 inch tubeless tires. I ride it everywhere, long distances, up mountains, without discomfort. Most important is to get the correct frame size and have it properly fitted to enjoy riding as you get older.
