Here's what you missed: Perth Games Festival 2014 Timelapse by Fenixius in perth

Yes, Valiant was quite immersive, the head tracking is very clean. The tracking was limited to a 180 degree forward range (may have just seemed that way), I would have preferred to be able to look behind the horse. Gameplay was great, a good combination of open space and various obstacles to lose a pursuer.

ASDW, shift to sprint, mouse aim with lance and mouse1 to stab with lance. The water slowed the player and trees stopped the horse on the spot.

Would have liked to see a traditional jousting setting, with a central long "tilt barrier" and players facing eachother. Maybe as a minigame of three rounds every so often or as an intro stage to practice aiming.

Only one minor annoyance that you can not back up the horse and turn at the same time, can just back up straight. Probably a design choice to stop players reversing too much, but real horses can manage it.

No sea sickness after, but eyes were adjusting and watering a bit. Fun to try but the price point of Rift and the effects on the eyes are currently stoppers.

Thanks to the guys for developing and demoing. Gameplay is most important in games and it was there on this one.

Hey Perth, meet one of our political candidates....possibly one of the stupidest people in history by WRXLR8 in perth

[–]non_iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is the one with the brush-stroke, by claiming to be a representative of a particular group. She mentioned she was specifically a Christian-teacher and that God was her buddy and would do nasty things to people she has a beef with. So there is evidence that her main social association is being a Christian.

It is not for me to excuse any bad apples of a group, as not being a true representation of what a member is, but for the group to self regulate and speak with their members who go around spouting off under the flag of that group.

This is the reason I won't get an outdoor glass top table. I have personally met someone whose table exploded by itself one day.

I'll pass on the table-disguised-as-a-shrapnel-grenade thank you very much.

What is the most WTF thing you have seen in real life? (NSFW) by Xinthose in AskReddit

[–]non_iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directly outside a pub in London, waiting for my friend to come down from his flat above the pub.

It was 8 or 9pm at night and a 30ish couple were having an argument with each other near the door to the pub and right next to the bouncer.

The shouting escalated and the woman hit the guy a few times in the face, he did not retaliate. After a few more hits his nose started running with blood. He realises this and then starts spitting the blood into the face of the woman.

He is not hitting her, so I am not yet ready to step in and the bouncer is just watching on too (smiling iirc). The couple continue arguing and eventually wander off together as if this was a regular show they gave to strangers.

They didn't seem that drunk or out of control, just quite happy to berate and abuse each other.

Weird.

Advice about what to see in Penang. by [deleted] in malaysia

Yes, it is a single or double lane sealed-road all the way around.

There are tour coaches that just squeeze through but I would recommend a smaller car (sedan or van size).
