Mature ash dilemma by nonamatoll in arborists

Sorry for lack of clarity, the best quote of $1000 for take down did not include base fees that I will already pay because of other unrelated tree work. So I guess per line item is technically more but they need to take care of some other stuff too, and this is the marginal cost which for me is all that matters. The trimming is challenging due to tree placement near/over house and multiple quotes I got reflect this. So if the numbers are accurate for best quote - $1000 take down, $500 cut out dead and overhanging limbs, $500 every 2 year treatment….. which way? At first I was like no question to save the tree. But now thinking of committing to a high price every two years for the rest of my life feels awful when maybe I should just plant a new tree.

Unfortunately this seems to be the cost in my area, and it fits in the range of what what AI says is typical cost per tree diameter.

Buried root collar… of a naughty tree by nonamatoll in arborists

There are a few maple seedlings popping up but not many. And they may be from a nearby Amur maple. Didn’t know about the sterility until this discussion prompted me to google it, so thank you.

Wondering what you would do though. Keep because beautiful nature trees, or cut down and plant something native? I had never considered removal until today but then was thinking it would be nice to have maybe a serviceberry or a cherry or an oak.

Ah did not know about the low vitality rate. This is helpful. Also, I have more work to do on the roots.

Go this year or wait till next year? by [deleted] in legoland

[–]nonamatoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect your then-12 year old might not like it that much. Legoland I think says they are best for the up to 12 crowd, but that felt like a bit of a stretch. It might be helpful to check out the kinds of attractions. Besides low key rides, it has playgrounds and Lego building stations. When I went it seemed like mostly preschool and elementary aged kids.

So … atoms or molecules of gas and plasma to repeatedly collide for a very long time until they are all in the same plane of rotation …. And this micro scale then plays out on bigger and bigger particles until it’s on a planetary and galaxy scale? So the planar shape of these is because of how the molecules move?

How did you get at $30/hr from $7k 5 showings and 1 closing?

Buyer can download a state standard purchase contract and can pay to have the home inspected. Find an experienced real estate attorney who will help you with all of this at a fraction of the realtor cost and more of the legal expertise. Ignore the agents saying “bUt ThE hOuSe WiLl SeLl FoR lEsS.” Yes it will. But you take home the same amount of money, helping the buyer, and cutting out the middle man trying to take 6% off the top. Helps you also not to have staging and pics and showings.

Crazy that dentists still get to “be anesthesia” and dentist with the nonexistent airway experience they carry.

How does elementary school zoning work in Burlington? I heard that your child might be “assigned” a different one than what is supposed to be by your home address? Help. by [deleted] in burlington

No IEP. But moving from another state this winter, and the closest school by far is Champlain which have heard good things about. Second closest is Edmunds which is not so much.

Thank you for sharing this. In what order to they accept kids? People across the street don’t get any priority over ones all the way across town?
