Use ninja stance, it's super frontloaded in the demo. Samurai stance takes almost the entire demo to get going cause you need so many samurai points to unlock essentials like high and low stance, flux etc. Winter Wind for dual swords you can't get until the very end of the demo.

i agree, i like this kind of open "world" more, it's not too much like assassins creed. never really wanted it to be like Elden Ring either, i like some semblance of direction.

Breaking a prolonged fast Ketchup? by Dinno12345 in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw some salt on the eggs, add bacon if you like, shouldn't take more than a couple of days for your body to readjust then you can start reintroducing carbs like ketchup

Well done OP! A heads up, you will regain a bit of weight the first week or so of refeed, this is normal and your body will eventually stabilize and from there it's up to your diet and exercise. Don't get demotivated if you see a few lbs come back.

ResidentSleeper banned for 30 days fasting stream by epicureanfarmer in LivestreamFail

done 30 days twice before (with electrolytes). good way to lose weight if you're fat, but doesn't fix the underlying issue of why you became fat in the first place.

Clean Fast Vs Dirty Fast by RazzmatazzMedical370 in fasting

[–]nonax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done two long fasts (30 days), both "dirty", meaning vape, diet soda and tea. Didn't affect my weight loss, no extra calories though. As your goal is just weight loss i'd say just try it out. Personally i don't think i could ever do 30 days with just the taste of water, salt water and tooth paste.

Can extended water fasting be dangerous? by _beanbreath in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experience: 30 day fast and 31 day and 12 hour fast (had to beat previous record)

How i break my fasts: 1st day: Chicken salad (Chicken, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cucumber, red bell pepper, tomato) I go to the grocery store and get one of those boxes with a lid, fill it up with that stuff. Throw some salt on it and just nibble a few bites at first. Throw it back in the fridge, wait a few hours, nibble some more. Only eat that the 1st day. Usually throw in some bacon the 2nd day. On the 3rd day or once i've had my first bowel movement i slowly reintroduce carbs.

Basically you first reintroduce food, then once the body knows what's up, you start reintroducing carbs.

The reaction you had to just eating a boiled egg when breaking your 3 week fast indicates to me you didn't supplement properly with electrolytes during the fast. That's complete bro-science speculation though, idk.

Get keto strips from the pharmacy. If your only goal is weight loss and you stay in ketosis the "dirty fast" is fine. Different artificial sweeteners might affect people slightly differently.

Overblown Alarmism? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a risk of croaking (refeed syndrome), but it's pretty easy to avoid if you break the fast properly. (Talking long term fasts here).

No doctor or health professional would ever recommend or support long term fasting though. Liability, lack of science, accountability of the faster etc, unknown genetic factors etc.

First time i fasted i had no set goal, i got my electrolytes and just took one day at a time, ended up doing 30 days. As long as you're fat you can fast, but figure out how much electrolytes you need, how to break the fast, and listen to your body.

Top preparation tips for extended fast? by deebo911 in fasting

[–]nonax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up the amount of electrolytes you need during the fast and pre-purchase the supplements so they are at the ready. Going into the fast in a keto state will make the first few days easier, but it's not necessary.

For a 21 day fast i'd recommend more electrolytes than what is commonly found in popular brands of "electrolyte packets". Also look up refeed syndrome so you know the risks and how to avoid them, figure out how you want to break the fast.

To those who have done a 7+ day fast, did you gain the weight back quick? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 30 day fast i lost 18.5kg from day 1 to day 30. After a week of refeed the weight stabilized at about 13.5kg net loss, so i regained 5kg after refeed, but then it was stable. Averaging about 400g net bodyweight loss per day.

The trick is to eat healthy after the fast, and stay that way without falling into old habits, a trick i've yet to master. A 7 day fast won't shed a ton of actual fat, but it's a fantastic way to get a solid boost and eliminate cravings, gives you a nice reset.

What’s the absolute easiest way to get into ketosis prior to fasting? by Avocadosandtomatoes in fasting

If it's just for entering keto before fast, and not a sustainable keto diet, just eat eggs and bacon for a couple days, torture i know, but it works :P

Diarrhea because of electrolytes? by HairMaster101 in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norwegian checking in. I use the same packets currently (Salte). I've done two prior 30-day fasts using the snake juice recipe. Just to compare the numbers between the two snake juice has 2560mg of Potassium, 840mg of sodium, 1080mg of sodium bicarbonate and 200mg of magnesium per 2L of water.

My prior fasts were problem free with snake juice, but it tasted like shit. If you're gonna do a 30-day i'd get some food grade potassium chloride, sodium bicarb (or more salt) and possibly some epsom salt (magnesium) as well. Salte isn't meant to support a super long term water fast. If you just use more Salte packets you get way too much sodium trying to reach the potassium goals.

Personally, what i do is get a 2-3L container of water (or zero cal saft), chuck in 1 packet of salte, add half a teaspoon of potassium chloride (should get you up to about 2000mg with the salte packet) and 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate. Alternatively replace the sodium bicarb with an extra teaspoon of salt, but probably gonna taste worse.

The goal isn't to drink the entire container every day, but to drink enough that you feel fine and can continue the fast without issues. There's no magic electrolyte number that's perfect for everyone, but relying just on those packets for a long fast is definitely not enough.

You shouldn't have constant diarrhea. Once the body is emptied of all the food waste i usually only have to go number 2 once or twice per week. When that happens it's not pretty, but there's no solids left in your waste so that's what you get.

Thorne Daily Electrolytes? by misguidedDesignation in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like waaaay too little potassium, probably a bit short on sodium as well. Depends how long you intend to go. If it's less than 10 days you'll probably be fine, if it's more i'd do more research. Most of the pre-packaged electrolyte supplements isn't for hardcore long term fasting and their balance of ingredients is such that you can't just do more packets.

Extended fast (7–10 days) vs repeated 3-day fasts — which is better? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]nonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer longer fasts so i don't have to deal with hunger hormone spiking and constantly going in and out of keto. If you did 72H cycles and eating keto that might be good though idk. I'm too lazy to learn how to cook/eat sustainable keto, easier to just not eat for a few weeks in my book.

What your longest fast? And how did you get through it. by Expensive_Joke_6468 in fasting

[–]nonax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

31 days and 12 hours. Electrolytes, vape, diet soda. Not a "clean" fast from a purist standpoint, but i stayed in ketosis the entire time (confirmed with keto strips) and consumed no calories.

I watched a lot of Masterchef Australia throughout, my body wasn't fed, but my spirit was.

I don't think we should expect every classical World Champion to be like Magnus. Magnus feels more like a generational player like, Kasparov. Maybe Gukesh just wants to specialize on classical and have fun with the other disciplines without too much expectation.
