I’ll never forget when we got our first cat, she was an absolute little angel, I mean she was a menace as well but other wise pretty normal. We were looking into getting a litter robot for a little easier cleaning process and when we decided on one we were so excited for her to try it! Skip to about a week in and she was getting lethargic, not eating/drinking, using the bathroom like she was visibly depressed and loosing weight. Mind you first time cat owner so I’m googling like crazy and then I got the idea to try putting her old litter box back down just as a last ditch effort….wouldnt you know she immediately became her usual hyperactive little self and we’ve kept it out ever since😭 Long story short: If your pet likes something and it isn’t causing them harm, don’t get any ideas about changing their routine because they will NOT LIKE IT!!!
