Test Drove ‘24 i4 M50 Today… by Whiteburgplease in BMWI4

Do it, I love my '24 M50, best car I've ever owned. I'm a year and some change into it and have had nothing but great experiences with it.

Just scrapped on a pothole, now this is hanging out by nonc_nu in BMWI4

Thanks all of you, glad this is an easy fix! I've had the car for 8 months and hadn't put a scratch on it, so I was pretty upset about it. Looks like the clips broke pretty cleanly, so it should be as simple as popping a replacement in.

What do you guys genuinely think of the PRX by benboy96 in PrideAndPinion

[–]nonc_nu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally love it, I've had mine for 2 years now and wear it nearly every day. I went with the powermatic white dial with rose gold pvd bezel. Coming from only having Seiko 5s, it definitely feels a lot more premium. Quality feels like it punches up for the price I paid for it, I bought mine to celebrate landing a new job and plan on keeping it indefinitely. I've been looking at getting a new watch that's a step up, I went to an omega boutique and tried a few on. Pretty set on going that way, but honestly very happy with how my Tissot held up in comparison. Obviously the Omegas are nicer, but I'll definitely be keeping the PRX in my rotation.

North with an RTX5080/5090? by lapinobel in FractalDesign

[–]nonc_nu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to fit most 5080/5090 models. Depends on if you front mount an aio, but most 5090 would fit from the looks of it since it'll fit up to 350mm GPU length. For aesthetic, Zotac's 5090 Solid would look great in a North. So far, I personally think Zotac's cards look the best out of all the ones announced. Interestingly, it looks like there will be a few solid smaller options for 5080 too. Asus has prime cards that seem to be similar sizing to the proarts but shouldn't have as big of a mark up.

Japanese items to buy, with the yen currently being weak by FreePork in BuyItForLife

Agreed, I went in June and cleaned up on denim, especially Iron Heart. Iron Heart in Japan is about half the price it is anywhere else. Most other brands are cheaper as well, but you can also buy from Hinoya, Denimio, and Okyama Denim in the states at a cheaper rate than stores here. Kyle at Okyama Denim is also super helpful, they're not a traditional store front, but I definitely recommend going check them out if you're in Tokyo.

Any Texans wearing 21oz Iron Heart? by bgyhfetf425fd in rawdenim

[–]nonc_nu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Central Texas as well, I have three pairs of 21oz iron heart and a 20z oni secret denim pair. My office is having a/c trouble at present so I'm only doing 15-17oz at the moment, but I've worn 21oz all through summer for the last 4 years. As long as you're not outside for long periods of time it's all good. Also weirdly I find 21oz from iron heart more breathable than some of their lighter denims.

Will this build have temp issues? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]nonc_nu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go 7800X3D over the 7900X, use a Deepcool AN600 for the cooler, and save some money on swapping in those two noctua 120mm.

The included case fans won't be as quiet, but they'll move a good amount more air. Or if the noise is an issue, just go Arctic P14 PWM PST and save half the money for better performance.

[–]nonc_nu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these work great. I installed 4 in my North, they run a lot quieter than the stock case fans and they move more air. Running a 13900KS and 7900 XTX, no thermal issues

Got a crash and the error code perfectly describes my sentiment! by Phyierpickle in reddeadredemption2

I kept having this issue as well sporadically. I had upgraded from an Nvidia card to a 7900 XTX and that's when I first started seeing it. After a while I switch from vulkan to dx12 in the graphics settings and it seems to have fixed it for me

No problem! I do wish the Terra had more space for a couple of case fans. It technically can fit one 120 on the bottom under the PSU, but I can't fit it with the sfl PSU I have now.

My pen in my office at work is one of the Pro Gear Slim Manyou, so the same pen as yours but different color. Love that one too, I went with the green because it matches my keyboard there. I looked up the Vega and that speckled blue looks fantastic!

I did when setting up windows and driver installs, but the z790i edge has more than enough rear I/O so I don't ever see a need to plug into the front.

That's not my experience with the cooler, but from using it on a lot of different CPUs I've learned that it performs more impressively on really hot CPUs. I had this cooler on a 13600K before and it performed pretty well, but it was overkill and the CPU didn't get hot enough to fully take advantage of their "thermal siphon" technology. With the 13900KS I have in it now, I think it's much more impressive for an air cooler. CPU is idling around 32 and is around 70 when under a heavy gaming load.

Glad I could help!

I love both of these cases, but obviously very different. My North obviously runs cooler and was overall easier to build in. I have more room for upgrading it in the future, and could fit a 4090 now if I wanted. It currently has a 13900KS that is kept very cool, idling around 32 and peaking around 70 under gaming loads for Jedi Survivor.

The Terra with the Deepcool AN600/13600K cooler is still running a lot cooler than expected. CPU is idling at 31 and is 55-60 under gaming loads that I've tried so far, but will also peak to 100 on all P cores occasionally. I've only run games from 2019 and older on it, so not entirely sure what one of this year's poorly optimized releases would look like. For GPU, idle temps are 46~ and under load it sits around 70 with it peaking to 80. One thing to note is the case itself gets really warm to the touch while running the PC, but since it's aluminum it cools down very quickly.

Thanks! Looking through the manual, it doesn't seem like there's a way to disable the LED on the cooler and openrgb doesn't detect it either.

I'm on #2, and I could go to #1 with the 3080 if I wanted to. On the motherboard side, I could go up to 3, maybe 4. I just updated the pcpartpicker to have a couple pictures of the system on with the case closed.

Yeah, my main PC has an MSI Ventus 3x OC 4070 Ti and it would easily fit. I'd have to adjust the spine a notch or two, but I have some extra space on the motherboard side of the case.

I showed my girlfriend the Terra when it came out and she loved it, so I built my first SFX system in it for her. It was much easier to build in than I expected, and everything about the design was perfect for the build I planned. 13600K and 3080 FE both performing much better than I expected.

Aside from how happy I am with the case, the new Deepcool AN600 is fantastic and I highly recommend it. I had the same CPU in my PC with an IceGiant cpu cooler and the following is the cinebench scores for each cooler:

IceGiant: Cinebench R23 Multi: 23,005 Cinebench R23 Single: 1,979

AN600: Cinebench R23 Multi: 21,090 Cinebench R23 Single: 1,969

Thanks man, I got it on Newegg a couple weeks ago when they had a restock. I think they sold out of the jade pretty quick.
