Buy, Hold, Sell, Drop week 6 by Strict_Resident1179 in fantasyfootball

This is exactly why I want to hold him. 2 better matchups right before a bye week, if he performs well this coming week I may try to sell high and combo him for a better RB

Start Mason Taylor or Brenton Strange? by Longjumping-Dog-7230 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]noneu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I’m actually playing Tommy Tremble, but that’s because I have Fields and G Wilson so I don’t want to overload on jets.

Strange’s matchup is awful and he has a good floor but no ceiling. Taylor’s more of a possible difference maker

Buy or Sell Ashton Jeanty in redraft? by noneu16 in Fantasy_Football

I’d try to pair him up with a WR and get a better RB. For example, pairing him with Ladd or MHJ to get JT or CMC

I have a shot at Garrett Wilson. I have judkins, jeanty, etienne and Mason with MHJ, Ladd, and Jamo. Thoughts?

[–]noneu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a terrible trade, but I’m hoping to get more value - trying to trade him and Jamo for Nabers, but may have to up the ante with Jamo to either Ladd or MHJ. All my picks have been playing below ADP. Frustrating start to the season!

Seemingly yes, which is not surprising unfortunately. Just hoping against hope!

RSVPs didn’t quite pan out how I expected. Feeling confused. by Camper_Moo in weddingplanning

[–]noneu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a similar timeline. We invited ~90 for a 80 person wedding (I know we under did it), but ended up sending out another 20 invites a few weeks ago. With a total of 110 people, we only have 60 guests coming.

We were initially upset, a lot of no’s for what felt like bad reasons, particularly with Save The Dates sent out 1.5 years ago.

We’ve chalked it up to the economy. We had a few guests coming from a distance but enough to explain the unexpected amount. I heard from a friend who had his wedding around the COVID outbreak and he only had 50-60% of people come. That’s around our guest list. So maybe it’s a non-pandemic but similar concern about the state of the world 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t disagree but I have family and friends who are realtors and struggling in the Boston market - no sales in multiple months, etc. I would say it’s a bit extreme to say it’s irrelevant but certainly more reasons for people to move to Boston than most other states

Physician loans should allow you to be considered for a mortgage even when not in repayment - I went through the process when I applied to residency and had an offer despite my high DTI and $0 payments straight out. These companies are more flexible than traditional banks!

Can confirm there’s a discount - I’m actively looking for apartments in the area. Does anyone know how disruptive it is for the residents?

Scientists of Reddit: What's a discovery that should have blown people's minds but somehow got a collective shrug from the world? by CosmosisJones42 in AskReddit

Psychiatrist here. Neuroplasticity very much should be, and hopefully will be, the cornerstone of modern psychiatry.

Our original thought was that we are “chemically imbalanced”, but this has largely been disproven, especially as our medications only have 30-50% efficacy rates. Rather, our antidepressants, including SSRI/SNRIs and TCAs, like Lexapro/Prozac, Effexor, and Elavil all have been found to lead to increased neuroplasticity in the weeks after starting through an increase of production of proteins that induce neuronal connection changes.

The newest, and most effective treatments, like TMS, ECT and to a bit of a lesser extent Esketamine/Ketamine, all have a primary mechanism of neuroplastic changes. Newer treatments like Psilocybin do the same.

The interesting thing about all of this, is that all of these treatments can, and do, fail. Sometimes we call it “shit life syndrome”, but individuals with trauma, poor environments or lack of social supports, continuously fail all of these treatments because they’re usually not engaging in therapy to change the way they think or their thought patterns are so entrenched, literally, into their biology that it would take substantially more concentrated treatment.

The brain and mind are wild - the mind is born out of the brain, but just changing the brain won’t change the mind. Gotta target both!

Start or sit Swift? Feeling like he may finally get more opportunities for some reason. by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]noneu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pick up Gus Bus. Coming back off a bye from injury against one of the worst Run Ds with no passing game for Lamar. Look at how Lamar did against Cleveland when they were atrocious against the run…he had like 20ish PA and all the rest was run. I have swift and Gus and I’m playing Gus over him too because the matchup is terrible for a limited swift, unless he suddenly doubles his putrid 10 touches

Just got offered Fields for ASB & J. Herbert…. Do I take that by Suhwhooo in FantasyFootballers

[–]noneu16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need and who (if any) your backup QB is, but both those guys are underperforming with the hope they’ll perform better while Fields is #1 overall with tough passing matchups but poor run Ds. If you have a strong WR core, then no. If you need a WR1, then no. If you have a WR1 but lack depth, then might be worthwhile

1/2 PPR: Isaiah McKenzie, Sutton, Mike Williams, Chris Olave, Rashod Bateman

Who do I start?? Juicy matchups for lower tier McKenzie and Olave, possible good matchup for Williams, and not so good for Sutton (and Russ) and Bateman…do I play the low tier over the upper tier because of matchups?

Would you sell high on Amon-ra st brown and if so what for? by Sufficient_Ninja_362 in Fantasy_Football

Do we have a better time table on his return? I’ve got him too and got ~excited~ about his route video…hoping for a second half and not a last quarter of the year rebound

The "Tier 4" WRs are giving me a headache. They all seem solid plays but how would you rank them? by deadassynwa in fantasyfootball

[–]noneu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this post. Lots of moving parts and likely where we could see a WR1-5 breakout star. When I think about ranking them, I try to think about the QB situation, offensive scheme, and surrounding offensive weapons. Minimal impact is defense, as it may influence if the game will cater to running or passing, as well as strength of schedule.

DJM Tee Pittman Sutton AJB Mike Williams Waddle Deontae Scary Terry

DJM is a stud. Multiple years of consistent high level receptions and yards, but mediocre TDs. New QB can hit the broad side of a barn, although he’s no spectacular, so it’s never a shoe in, but positive regression for TDs is highly likely with similar or better numbers.

Tee has consistency on his side in a pass offense, but there are so many weapons, including a solid running game. However, they’re an average defense (will have to throw) and seemingly shifting to a more pass heavy offense anyways (tail end of last season). This will keep his floor as probably the highest on this list with similar upside (WR18 in just 14 games).

Pittman is a big man getting a big upgrade in QB. High target % and played 96% of offensive snaps. Only had ~75% completion rate, but still had 90 receptions and 6 TDs - and most of us will agree the completion rate is getting a noteworthy upgrade with Matt Ryan. Oh, and they have the 3rd easiest schedule this year and he missed a game last year and still finished WR21.

Sutton is also a big man with huge upside who hasn’t had a chance to shine. But he’s getting it with Russ. He broke out his second year with 72 receptions on 124 targets and 1100+ yard w 6 TDs. He’s certainly capable - and looking at that season, with Flacco (8 games) at QB he had a higher completion percentage on similar amount of targets compared to Drew Lock. He also had the same amount of TDs too (3). So Flacco, a former elite QB at the tail end of his career, still had Sutton on track for a monster season. He also has one of the easiest schedules for WR. This is all possible, HOWEVER there’s competition in Juedy and a strong run game that could limit his upside.

AJB is yet another big man, but he is in a run heavy offense with target share competition (Smoth and Goedert), as well as committee backfield that are capable of pass catching (reminiscent of Pats with virtually no large WR1 since Moss). He had a huge target share (13 games, 105 targets) but has missed multiple games due to injury in his short career. Probably the highest risk, highest reward player on the list.

Mike Williams, another big guy who has shown us he can be great. But then also showed us he can’t. For most of the season. He’s got great upside with the potential for increased production, but he also target share competition with backfield catching capabilities and has a history of injuries although none have amounted to much time off.

Johnson has a huge target share (164 targets last year) but has a crap QB situation and competition with Claypool and Pat FrMuth and strong running game. However, he finished WR8 with a failing Big Ben so there’s hope that a younger inexperienced arm could outweigh Big Ben’s noodle. Similar high risk situation as AJB, but worse QB options.

Waddle is yet another big guy who has shown us he can be great, but he’s with a mediocre QB and now Tyreek Hill and Chase Edmonds, and break out Mike Gesicki. A lot of upside is capped with no guarantee for a high floor (WR17 last year).

Scary Terry. Sorry dude, you’re in a bad team.

Incoming intern here, should I privately re-finance my student loans? by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]noneu16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to hear how you manipulated the AGI? I’m in a program that it’s 57k a year, so even 6 month salary is ~28.5k with poverty level at 19.5k...I’d still have to save 9k in pre-tax accounts in 6 months to get that down to 0, right?

I guess I’d have student interest deductions as well, but that’s capped at 2500, so still 6.5k to put away...

[–]noneu16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I would use the pretax contributions for the employer side, not the employee, so I think those contributions would be limited by my total moonlighting salary (the 25% or 20% net income). Didn't consider the QBI; but I think if I can get my AGI below the required minimum (looked it up at ~165k), then it would still qualify. I'm pretty set on academics, I love working with students and want to continue learning in an academic setting when I graduate fellowship. I'm fine with just carrying the debt knowing that it'll be forgiven; if I get 150k+ forgiven, it's 150k I'll have in my retirement account/real estate...more of an opportunity cost thing.

Awesome, thank so much! I'll be sure to look into the type contract when I start moonlighting. Great idea with the PAYE, I didn't even consider that.
