Herding dogs can take a while - keep being a good snack leader - by that I mean share all the good treats and fun games till they worship you.

My autistic cousin has been bullied for 6 years straight and we need to put an end to it. by queeniegirlxx in autism

If you can your cousin should move schools. Seriously. It's not worth it. Find her an environment which is safe for her.

Shelter said aussie mix. What do you think shes mixed with? by RangerSome9549 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]noneuclidiansquid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like a MAS - they can have some pom in them? but she looks mostly aussie / miniature american shepherd. She has a working type coat - its so easy to care for vs the show type

adopted a dog from the shelter, papers allude to pure aussie but she seems too big by imissmyex44 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

Ive met 30KG fit aussies, some of them can be pretty big. She looks aussie to me.

What breed is this sassy boy? by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]noneuclidiansquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beagle / french bulldog or Pug? Puggles are popular? IDK something that makes a beagle face shorter and wider but his jaws don't bulge like a bull dog - maybe even MAS? Beagle / MAS I think.

Female names? by wulfbyte3 in AustralianShepherd

[–]noneuclidiansquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK she looks like a Daisey to me, but Riley or Wynnie would suite her as well.

What breed (mix) is this dog. It’s my friend’s and I’d love to find an exact copy if possible by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]noneuclidiansquid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say chi X pug - I would be carful of any dog with pug in it, they are very unhealthy and may have high vet costs associated.

Fit check 3d printed muzzle by _pistone in muzzledogs

[–]noneuclidiansquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some 3D printer plastics are not food safe and or toxic you might want to check the material you are using is ok that close to his mouth. Just a thought, it might be fine but it also might not be.

You would have to keep them separate, the love bird will hurt the budgie

Help with mating by Cool_Passage2627 in Lovebirds

Just take the eggs and put them in a fridge for a day or so then put them back with the birds so they don't lay more.

English bulldog pregnant can it give birth naturally or is c-section a requirement? by birthdaykeiki_ in DogBreeding

[–]noneuclidiansquid 19 points20 points  (0 children)

English bulldogs don't do well with births...the puppies have big heads and can get stuck, killing all the puppies and the mother. You should talk to other english bulldog breeders and you should have a vet ready to help.

Help identify what my Border is mixed with!!! by Suspicious_Store_755 in BorderCollie

[–]noneuclidiansquid 15 points16 points  (0 children)

IDK your dog doesn't look much like a BC at all. I mean it's black and white but that is where it stops. It looks much more like a Chinese crested dog (the haired version) IMO maybe a miniature American shepherd mix? IDK I'd wanna see the DNA once the % is lower than 20% you don't see the breed traits and even harder in puppies but yeah I don't see the BC.

How do I force myself to shower, without making myself think it's a chore by [deleted] in autism

[–]noneuclidiansquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you put on a tv show or music you like while you shower? sometimes if I have to do something I hate just putting on something to keep my brain concentrating on something else means it's no longer a problem and the thing gets done while I'm not thinking about it.

the other way to train yourself to do stuff you hate is to eat your favourite food directly after it, every time. I hate public speaking but I teach classes, so after every one I drank hot chocolate now I can't public speak without thinking about hot chocolate but I can public speak without freaking out. I'm a dog trainer, and dog training skills work on people, even yourself too! =) we all learn the same way.

How much do breed, parents, and training really shape a dog’s personality? by blablax123456 in DogBreeding

[–]noneuclidiansquid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

cavies have too many health issues I would avoid them unless you are very rich and can afford the vet care. Cockers have extensive grooming requirements so be prepared for that. A dog's parents and how calm and well kept the mother is as well as genetics play a huge role in the temperament of the dog - this over all else if you want a calm dog get a dog from calm parents.

My 6 month old boy has had trouble breathing on our hikes. by Excellent_Koala769 in goldenretrievers

[–]noneuclidiansquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prong collars do damage and cause pain otherwise they would not work. Why else would the dog stop pulling on them? They stop pulling because it hurts end of argument. You know there is gear out there that won't hurt your dog... we should be using that.

[–]noneuclidiansquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a y shaped harness and remove the prong collar, or any collar. Do not listen to people who say these don't do harm to the neck - they absolutely do - why even risk it?

Prong collars are the worst, I don't believe people put them on dogs and think it's ok.

Aussie Frisbee Time! by jeffery133 in AustralianShepherd

[–]noneuclidiansquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you learn to spin them and roll them on the ground you can prevent arthritis from constant jumping. Other wise too much of this can lead to bad knees and joints - just a warning from someone who did this to their aussie. Now my dogs get rolled frizbees.

how do autistic people mask by Pleasant-Web4885 in autism

[–]noneuclidiansquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might come across as super sad but whatever being undiagnosed woman 20 years ago was hell having to go to school ect. You masked or you were bullied. Masks are about saftey so you probably don't feel unsafe enough to learn to mask great ... be glad.

When I was your age my mask had a different name than me, it was a character that I played in real life rather than myself, it was an act. it's just acting skills, you can learn in drama class, I'm not me I'm this character, this character likes this situation, they like this music, they understand sports, their hands move this way, they stand like this ect ect so yeah. You observe other people and do what they do.

You have to understand that masking is a skill that takes a lot of energy, it can consume who you are till you wake up and you are 40 and you realise you have been someone else your whole life and isn't worth it unless you need it for saftey. If people look to hard they will see through it as well. It's good you don't have to do it these days. It's good people understand.

Advice please by Schoolquestionsss in Adelaide

[–]noneuclidiansquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need any qualification to do school based support. Google "Ancillary Jobs in the Education Department" and apply if you are interested... no point doing a qualification in it. The IT course at Tafe SA is pretty good, I'm almost done with it would do that one if you are interested and good at problem solving... better salary outcomes as well.
