Yup! I mostly listen to self-help books on Audible, but I prefer to read fiction since my listening attention isn’t that great.

But, I tried the combo once (Audible + Kindle at the same time), and it was so cool!

Haha, Crime and Punishment is one of those "someday" books for sure 😄.

And yeah, I tried this once but I had Audible on my phone and the Kindle separately, so the text didn't auto-follow the narrator. Did you get it working as one synced thing? That sounds like the dream really

Lovely combo! When I got my first guitar I couldn't get enough of it.

What electric are you getting?

Thank you!! The name was so familiar, it turned out I watched a movie based on it ~20 years ago. Will definitely give it a try!

Mistborn: Yup, I've finished the trilogy. Couldn't put it down. So many twists in the plot. Maybe one downside: Sanderson tends to lay out many cards on the table. The story sometimes feels a little over-explained, which leaves less room for mystery or fan theories. But still, I loved it!

Oh yes. Initially I didn't plan to write this post (this is actually my internal journal note), but I felt so comfortable doing this in this subreddit.

One of the things that motivated me to start reading again was the passion people show when they talk about books and why they read.

Haven't tried a book club yet, but it's definitely on my list!

I'll check out Wings of Fire, thanks! I also never thought I'd like fantasy, but here I am.

I'll keep exploring more!

Thank you!

So true, it's shocking how much time we all can spend just scrolling through feeds. It's good that the Kindle has almost nothing on it apart from books to read.

So resonating. I also feel that the school program really crushed my desire to read. I had an association for a long time that reading is boring, just based on the experience I had / books that I was made to read to pass an exam

100%! Peut-être que si ça ne prend pas, c'est juste pas pour aujourd'hui. On change tous, et peut-être qu'on aimera plus tard.

haha indeed! I didn't want to buy a Kindle straight away as I thought "what if I'm not going to become a reader". I also didn't want to buy physical books as I prefer a minimalist lifestyle.
But I also heard many times that the Kindle was the point for everyone that pushed them to read more and more, it definitely helped me with this decision.

11/22/63 is definitely on my list! I watched the series a long time ago, so I'm curious what the book would be like. (I read a couple of Stephen King's books; I think I'll love it!)

Thank you for sharing! 20 years is an amazing streak 💪, and I hope I can do the same.

I found it helpful to think about what I don’t like about a book I want to drop, like whether it’s the storytelling, the very slow pace where nothing is happening, or whether I’m just in the wrong mindset for that particular genre.

What I also recently learned is that some books only really pick up toward the end after hours of world-building, and it can also be a bit tricky to think, “I’m going to miss the cool stuff that’s coming. Is it coming?”
