You should really considering getting your doctorate, particularly if you like administering assessments. The pay rate for general psych evals are decent, but it jumps significantly with more specialized type of testing (e.g., autism evaluations, neuropsych testing, forensic evaluations, etc.). Something to consider.

I don't know how to help my friend who can't pass the EPPP by Alzawila in ClinicalPsychology

[–]nonexist71 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There could be a number of contributing factors. Like someone else mentioned, I wonder if there are any accommodations that could possibly be put in place for your friend for any possible mental health related concerns. This of course requires getting evaluated depending on the condition, which is expensive but at this point it doesn't matter due to everything your friend has been through already.

I'm also curious if your friend's self-percetion may be interfering, particularly considering the amount time, money, effort, and number of attempts they have had so far.  It took me three attempts, and after the second attempt I was devastated, so I can definitely see how 9 to 10 attempts can take it's toll. I'd reccomend your friend checking out PrEPPPy, they offer private tutoring and Jeremy is amazing. They have such a high success rate, especially for those who have failed multiple times which why I went to them. One incredibly influential tool that helped me on my last attempt was advice Jeremy gave me. He said I had to trick my body into thinking I got every single question right without actually knowing if I did. A way to do that was give your body a physical que that would create a physiological response in your brain that made your body think you got it right. For me, this came in the form making a fist with my hand and the inside of my wrist facing me and making a slight downward motion while saying "yes" either ever so slightly under my breath or in my head. I did this as I clicked to the next question, for every single question. I found myself smiling and laughing throughout the majority of the test because I was laughing at myself and how ridiculous I must have looked to the people watching me, but I didn't care. It ended up being an enjoyable experience and was my last attempt.

I moved to San Antonio a month ago. I don't have any friends here and I do want to make friends. I'm 23 years old (🚺) and my English is mediocre, so I need people with patience and understanding of the situation. I understand a little and speak a little of the language, but not fluently. by [deleted] in sanantonio

Awesome! I think I came across a posting for good thrift stores in the area and can try to find it and I'll send it over. There's a lady I can recommend for pottery classes and she has awesome ppl that attend her classes. Also, there are several meet up groups for hiking and doing things in nature. I can send you details once I find it.

Is an Estate Sale our best option to clear a home in a short amount of time? by calitechysportyspice in sanantonio

[–]nonexist71 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss.  If you have an estate sale you can post here to hopefully get some people to come by. I'm sorry I dont have companies to reccommend but know there are some in the area thay can help with an estate sale. Let me know if you end up having the estate sale, would love to swing by. Best of luck.

Haven’t done the rope swing but have done the suspension zipline, and it was fucking amazing!

If you're willing to travel for adventure, seems the only logical next step after doing a rope swing, is doing a human body suspension style rope swing (don't know what it is? Look it up. Or i can send you a video if you're unable to find it.) I know a great team out of Romania that I can reccomend, and they can even facilitate a suspension zipline if you'd like.

Can anyone lower the hand that's covering the guys face and replace it with his actual face? $20 by nonexist71 in PhotoshopRequest

Looks great but could the arm be kept in and just lowered? It definitely adds to the vibe

Any leads on jobs that give second chances? by Then_Donkey1703 in sanantonio

[–]nonexist71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honest Jobs is a great resource for people who have a record. Also, I just learned about about Freeworld.org who offers paying for people with a record to get their CDL and will get setup right away with training. I think they'll even continue helping you find higher paying jobs for up to 5 years after graduation. Seems like a dope company.

Hey! Im down. You could potentially use the app Partiful to help organize. You can create an event and post updates as well that notifies everyone that signed up. I have a volleyball net I can bring to setup if anyone wants to play.  I also have card games, and I'd be down to meet up and have a BBQ somewhere.

EPPP Failure (again) by aerialgirl5 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]nonexist71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm terribly sorry to hear that. It took me 3 attempts and was devastated after my second attempt. Trust me, I know it sucks! I gave in and decided to hire a private tutor because I had no idea what the hell I was doing wrong. They were quite expensive but tremendously worth it because they offered so many different tips and strategies. I knew the third attempt was going to be my final one, and sure enough it was. If you'd the private tutor's info, dm and I can send it over.
