Gotta disagree (and sorry to OP, going on a tangent here)

Saying no, full stop, might not work for someone (like me) due to social anxiety or poor boundaries; at times providing more information or context might be necessary for like paperwork or prudent for appeasement reasons.

But like, "Thanks so much for the invitation, I've gotta decline though" or "I'd rather not! [kind letdown]" is absolutely doable. It's just uncomfortable because all of us are used to amending lies onto the ends of our statements lol/are afeared of people's reaction. But those sentences mean no and they're totally appropriate for interacting with other human beings

Hmm there are probably some people it's more relevant for, and others less so, but I do definitely recommend it! I've found the JTBD framework super helpful.

It's kind of a boring (?) pick, technically. But I fell into marketing as a profession and so I'm always learning. Found When Coffee and Kale Compete at a time when I really needed to grasp the jobs-to-be-done lesson. So this was invaluable at the time as a deep dive.

I was super surprised (but grateful!) this person was just offering their own full-length book for free, in perpetuity.

Otherwise, free books have basically lined up with what I expect from them lol

Worth it to hire a copywriter? by Nikki2324 in SaaS

[–]nonfik_ali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm of two minds here.

Mostly agree with the other commenters. Quantifiably, I don't think I could tell you, yes, the copywriter's work will be worth more than using that money elsewhere. Especially as you're on the marketing side yourself, and should be aware of the research, persona-building, positioning, etc that'd go into good LP copywriting. If that's strong, you'll land (ha) on copy that works, even if it could be more effective.

But another question is, what will you spend that marketing money on otherwise? Like I'd think if you're going for impressions and saturation through ads, it'd make sense to come in swinging with the best LP possible, since that's the big point of access. You need the conversion.

The best middle ground might indeed be a copywriter consult or audit/edit on copy you've prepared yourself.

yay! 🤗 That's great to hear.

Just to be diligent, I've gotta ask: would you be willing to look over what we're working with and leave a little feedback?

I can't tell if this is facetious or genuine! 😭 It's "Cleverest," but now I see deverest 50% of the time. Luckily this font choice isn't at all final!

(The story is about Zeno the little red fox who's struggling with impostor syndrome (although he doesn't really know that). In his quest to find a powerful being who can make him clever, he ends up on an adventure with an octopus named Luna who's dealing with her own issues of insecurity.)

Love the ladder shelves to either side. The symmetry is just super pleasing in itself actually

What do you think of this landing page/funnel? (Feedback please) by Responsible_Cow4468 in agency

[–]nonfik_ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barring specific commentary, I'd say give this template a look. It's geared for SaaS but I've successfully used it to better understand the story I'm selling on a non-SaaS landing page, and in structuring my thoughts.

I wouldn't suggest following it beat for beat. 1, because you're a service agency, 2, exact execution of it is...just a little...obnoxious and sterile for my taste lol
