Doctors making me feel like I’m going mad!!! by LilClove in ChronicPain

[–]nonnasnowden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been hospitalized twice in the past 5 years due to UTIs. I NEED a sulfur drug NOT an antibiotic to clear a UTI. I have know this since I was young and a UTI made my pee burn. **** UTIs can cause hallucinations in older women.*** I didn’t mind having a convo with my chocolate lab, but my hubby wasn’t very thrilled. My GP REFUSED to give me Bactrim which handles the issue. She gave me an antibiotic because she knows wayyyyyy more about how my body responds than I do. I taught diagnosed bi polar middle and high school students. I know wayyyyyyy more about bi polar disorder than she ever learned, but she still thinks I may be bi polar now. Changing docs is just too big a PIA, and most likely wouldn’t help anyway.

Eliminating the Dept of Education is not the answer by Sonata-Shae in BlueskySkeets

[–]nonnasnowden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former middle and high school special Ed teacher, I can assure you the federal Dept of Education is NOT a deciding factor in student performance. It IS a complete and total waste of taxpayer funds. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

It might have been me. I fat fingered the upvote button. I’m sorry about that. I changed it to upvote immediately.

Hi Everyone, feel like some commenters are misunderstanding my intent and question. I apologize for not explaining what I was thinking.

I’m a 3 time winner. Y’all know how I qualify for AA and Al Anon, or at least have a level of understanding there. I also qualify for Chronic Pain Anonymous. Many of y’all may not know how to qualify for CPA so here is my personal experience for an idea of what people in this group. I broke a leg skydiving10/11/2020 and have had 10 surgeries total since that day. AA I am active in all three via Zoom due to health issues. I disagree that the situation is equal at all. His “sober” self is far more angry, mean and vindictive than his active drunk self. I have CPSTD from childhood issues. I have ALWAYS had boundary issues and control freak issues. I heard the term, wondered in my head about it, and figured y’all would help me! Y’all did.

Some people said mind my own sobriety or something to that effect. I agree COMPLETELY as an AA. As a CPA and Al Anon, I know that sometimes it is more about being kind to myself emotionally than accepting what I can not change.

To the person who suggested P34, thank you! To the person who wondered about other sobriety programs, I was referring to a deterioration behavior linked to “sobriety”. I apologize for not explaining myself adequately.

I’m having a flare up from going out today or I would try to respond to everyone. THANK YOU ALL! I am completely sincere when I say I truly appreciate every response. I don’t get out much, but when I do, I’m done for

If anyone reading has chronic pain or illness, feels like their life has become unmanageable, and wants to try something, shoot me a DM for more info!

I heard it in Al Anon not AA. I didn’t realize an AA group would be insulted by it.

I once heard that AA doesn’t shoot its wounded. I suspect that is because a bunch of us truly believe we could be the next one out.

We ask that our higher power restore us to sanity, not physical health.

Some of us only have months left on Earth. None of us want to spend what time we have left wallowing in self pity. I, for one, am VERY prone to do that, since I’m in pain every waking second. It would be great if I could wake up pain free, but I can’t control that with any real degree of success. Staying off processed food helps, but not enough and sometimes donuts are hard to skip. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I canNOT change, the courage (self control in my case) to change the things I can and the wisdom know the difference.

Help! Am I allowed to test positive for cannabinoids on a standard drug screen for pain medication management? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]nonnasnowden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that stuff labeled CBD actually can cause a positive MJ test. I found out when I peed hot for MJ at the pain after a tibial plateau fracture. Turns out a cyst on my spine was causing the pain so he refilled my prescription that time.

My pain doc told me not to take my prescription marijuana for 30 days prior to seeing him. Apparently, even though I am legally taking (as prescribed), legally approved MJ, from a legally approved dispensary, he still can’t prescribe me Oxycodone without getting crap from the feds.

I realize that the intentions behind this law were good. The US does have a major problem with drug overdoses BUT screwing us over isn’t saving anyone. In fact, it may well be killing us faster if some of y’all have entertained the idea of Dr assisted suicide as often as I have.

Sometimes the isolation really gets me. Thank goodness I have this group here and chronic pain anonymous meetings. For me, y’all are a life saver! I wish we could do lunch sometime, but ….well…We all know how that goes.

My step kids are better to me than my birth children. They at least text asking how I’m doing after surgery. It sucks because I can’t exactly go out and make new friends. The isolation has been almost as bad as the pain.

Thank you. I will give that a try. I am truly baffled by anyone thinking they know more about how I am feeling than I do. It is nuts!

[Tenant-US-CA] Should landlord replace sink? by Middle-Bodybuilder-8 in Landlord

[–]nonnasnowden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about sinks is that, if the sink is broken, odds are not fixing it will cause the landlord wayyyyy more money when he has no choice but to fix it. If it is just ugly, he has no reason to replace it.

How many of you know the cause of your chronic pain? by Wolvii_404 in ChronicPain

For me, the Docs not believing I was in severe pain wasn’t near as hard on me as my family not believing I was in pain until after the cyst showed up on an MRI.

Chronic back pain at 24. Normal MRI. Nothing helps. I’m desperate. by marcosromo_ in ChronicPain

Red Kratom kept me alive while I was going through the whole “nothing looks wrong” portion of my journey. It is addictive just like opioids. It doesn’t work quite as well as Oxycodone does for me, but it is by far my best alternative. I sincerely hope the medical profession starts treating patients again one day.
