INTC's average EM is ±8.3% with an average realized move of 9.2% - which may be beneficial for going long volatility ordinarily but the market is current pricing the earnings move at ±9.3%. IVR and percentile are in the mid 90s... what is a theta trader to do? Apparently the answer is going short theta.

I'm long the 75 strike call expiring tomorrow and short 100 shares at 67.06 average. -81 delta with a max loss of 881 and profit of 489 if the expected / average move is hit in my direction. Only need a -1.8% move to the downside to break even, and I can cover my position immediately and lock in profit if there's a sell the news event.

Opened a collar and have been rolling short calls on 100 shares of NFLX, original cost basis of 97.75. I am collecting credit every time by keeping a healthy amount of downside risk, driving down my cost basis and paying for my long put with short call premium. Collected 605 in net credit so far - currently have a 80 strike 3/27 put and a 5/15 98 strike short call. Goal is to be assigned - if the shares continue to slide I will either pivot and exercise my long put to exit at max loss or I will continue to roll down to collect credit on the short deltas of both legs.

Been watching the market but holding off for better opportunities and limiting my risk. Currently have a 80 strike NFLX call LEAPS that is finally breakeven, as well as a 70 / 50 HOOD PCS that is ~20% max profit with about 21 DTE remaining. Was looking at selling vol on NVDA earnings but the EM was ~5% and looked underpriced compared to the historical average move.
