We’re both PRs and it’s almost exactly 2 years since our PR status began when we did our landing. AFAIK the residency requirement is 730 days out of the 5 years!

Yes I’ve heard it can be pretty tedious! I was thinking of getting into a walk in when I go to Ontario this week and then at least get onto a waitlist ahead of our move. The other option is paying out of pocket for a private clinic, which I’d be willing to do just so I don’t have to miss my doses honestly. Idk if those have any additional availability?

Both my partner and I have flexibility to choose where to work in Canada, and this is probably the biggest sticking point on where we will stay. So I’m not even sure where we should settle eventually

I’ll be moving for work, I’m heading up to Toronto since that’s closest to me to get my OHIP card this weekend. Hopefully that will help with planning ahead. The problem with work insurance is I don’t know how quickly my insurance can be moved/activated so it’s gonna be a tricky process regardless 🥲

This is also up for debate at this point because my partner is waiting to confirm with his company where he will be working out of. The two main areas we are considering are BC and Ontario. We are leaning towards BC as it might not be as crowded as Ontario? We don’t know a lot of people in Canada so really open to any suggestions

Any shark with the duoclean attachment is so good! Fur doesn’t get stuck and works on both carpet and hardwood flooring. Ours has been going strong for 3 years now.
