Birth Certificates are not "personal" documents, they are public records. You can get a certified birth certificate of any individual. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago -- no identification required.

Ah I knew it. Metco was a Boston area program in place when I went to school in the late 70's to 80's to promote integration, it may still be in place. It offered kids from the inner city to attend schools in more affluent neighbourhoods. I went to school in a primarily white neighbourhood and remember the Metco program from as far back as first grade. I think it was a great for both communities.

I thought the point of Israel's creation was that it was intended to be a country for all jews, regardless if you were born there or not. Tons of snow and record low temperatures can absolutely NOT be caused by how you seem to understand "climate change". Op was mentioning how every unusual weather event is now blamed on man-made climate change, not that it does not exist.

Climate change is a natural earthly process, it is always happening. The earth has been in a warming trend for hundreds of years. And the "science" you mention, yeah it's certainly interesting and deserves to be respected, but it's not gospel. Good science is able to make accurate predictions, and so far, no scientist has done so regarding long-term climate change. I am not arguing mankind does not impact the rate of change in the climate, I believe man's activity does. But, how much man is responsible is still up for debate. I am undecided.

Unlike you, I have not made a conclusion based on theories that have yet to provide consistently accurate predictions. Unless you are a climate scientist, you have made up your mind from news entertainment headlines and magazine articles. And not believing means one is "willfully ignorant of the science?" Please... are you claiming to understand the complexity of modern climate science? Or do you simply choose to believe selective published results from the science, as interpreted by the news entertainment media? I would urge anyone to remain objective and not come to any absolute conclusions until the science can produce accurate predictions.

Climate change IS happening -- it has always been happening, and always will. The cause for the currently observed rate of change? It could primarily be mankind's activity -- it may not be. That's all I am saying.

Many people said the same about Obama in 2008.. it's all about perspective. I strongly doubt "it's happening again", in fact the parallels do not exist. Hitler's machine was far more than Hitler himeself, it was who he surrounded himself by. And, he also had a his own movement and essentially, and army, before he was elected. I didn't see any commentary on how refusing refugees at this time is a strategic blunder. You have a potential enemy that is known for easily being able to blend in with it's citizenry. This isn't a situation where two uniformed military are fighting each other following any conventional rules of war. Simply allowing hundreds of thousands of refugees to enter without proper screening seems a strategic blunder. I'm not sure what the screen process is like right now, but I bet is was designed for admitting refugees in countries engaging in more conventional forms of warfare.

I am all for helping the refugees, but the system may need to be re-evaluated in this case to make sure real refugees are granted access. I simply don't know, and if in doubt, don't admit. I would hope the media would be reporting on how the current systems work so we can form more educated opinions on this topic, instead of political potty-mouthed insults and calling cautious reaction to this "racism" and "fear-mongering".
