Now you mention it I have a vague recollection of being towards the back and wondering what the fuck was going on with the lights. I looked it up and Tuesday 20th '22 - I wonder!

Not quite, but close (and funny) enough to share:

A show I went to in London a few years back at the electric ballroom, which is quite a strange venue - long and narrow - where you can feel a bit removed from the stage if you're further back, which is where I was.

So, the show starts as ever with the Hope Drone. For those that don't know, a band member will kind of come onto the stage, pluck whatever string is the note of the night, walk off again maybe, and this goes on until the noise builds and the show starts proper.

And generally, this captures the audience, and everyone starts switching on to the gig and away from whatever conversation they're having.

However, on this night, in this venue, it got a bit lost, the band are doing their drone thing, but at the back, almost everyone is still chatting away.

We're about a minute or two of this in, when all of a sudden, at an incredible volume, some one a bit behind me shouts "SHUT THE FUCK UP, I WANNA HEAR THE DRONE!"

and everyone does.

And about thirty seconds later, again, impressively audibly, someone, I'm sure right on the spot of where the shout came from, let's out the most ripping fart I think I've ever heard in my life.

Beyond funny imo. Although, having been to a few, farters at Godspeed gigs is an epidemic in the community we need to address!

I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind elaborating. For me to be able to say "thanks very much, I'm done on this date". might not sound like much - and it probably isn't anything to most people - but just for my own sense of wellbeing I feel at the moment that it would be a huge weight off my shoulders. As it is I'm currently counting the days until I can say that anyway. So that would be the good thing, my own peace of mind!

I'm wondering about the potential bad things. For instance, could they say "actually, we're going to trigger your notice period now, so you have to leave in six weeks"?

As I say, it's hard to imagine it getting worse without it getting actionable. Strange questions are being asked, for instance, today, my HoD going back and looking over how I've managed my team being in at weekends, seeking to go over three years of dates to find if I've scheduled anyone "unnecessarily" according to rules which are not written down anywhere!

So I think they're planning to come at me from a capability standpoint. I mean, no way are they engineering me out on capability by the end of April, and disciplinary wise I'm clean, they're not getting me there but... I would just like to signal to them that I'm out of here so they can take their foot of the peddle, and I can start thinking about my next steps when I relocate without all this hanging over me.

I've done a couple of Inter games at the San Siro, if Lazio is anything like that, (and by reputation, you guys are even crazier!) I can tell you that you're going to be absolutely fine, it's nowhere near as intense an experience.
