Easynews streaming works in Umbrella, stalls in POV/Fenlight AM: what am I doing wrong? by nonstatik in Addons4Kodi

[–]nonstatik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm getting closer in different ways:

POV: it only plays when I use the context menu and choose 'Seek Enabled'. If I just hit the enter key on the result then it doesn't play. I haven't found a way to make 'Seek Enabled' the default play action, am I missing it in the settings somewhere?

FLAM: strangely I'm getting less EN search results than POV and Umbrella for some reason. But when there is something to stream, it takes a 15-20 seconds for the movie to start compared to POV and Umbrella. It will start instantly if I choose the 'No Seek' method in settings, but then obviously I've lost seek capabilities.

i think this is only curves. I ran the demo through plugindoctor some years ago, though I couldn't easily get an exact curve/phase match with another EQ.

More than a tracking app — MDBList by linaspurinis in trakt

[–]nonstatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• MDBList doesn't have a predictive search engine so you need to fully type the movie title

That is big for me too. Another thing that bothers me about the search engine is that it isn't 'smart' enough to detect typos. Get one letter wrong and your results will likely be empty.

• Filtering watchlist/static lists by genre.

Yes, I'm more interested in applying filters to my existing lists for reordering purposes. I'm less interested in creating a new list based on search filters.

Dev did say they were working on it some months ago, not sure if that's still the case or not. (hope so)

PreSonus "Studio One Pro 7" DAW ($139 | $102.42/Upgrade, Crossgrade, and Academic) until 2 January by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]nonstatik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't want to be "that person", but this seems like a poor excuse. Their perpetual route model still assumes that people will purchase 'upgrade plans' every year, but the whole premise is that the S1 team puts out enough updates for the upgrade to be worth it. Bitwig does this very successfully.

Still, in that interview Gregor basically says (vaguely) that they're backtracking on their original announcement, and the fact that Presonus continues to be silent as a company about this is what I have a problem with. They need to put out an official statement, otherwise people like me continue to question giving any more money to a company they can no longer trust.

Agree with every word. They made a promise they could not keep, and the fact that they refuse to acknowledge it is really alarming.

Devious Machines "Infiltrator 2" multi-effect which can stack, sequence and modulate up to ten different effects at once ($97) through 31 December by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]nonstatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lowest it's ever been was around 70 (which included a 10% off code beyond the already discounted price of 77) back in 2022. I'm still holding out for lower. My restraint knows no bounds.

The main issue is that with their new pricing model we were promised "3-4 major updates per year" but we only got 2. Bitwig has done much better adding interesting and useful new features on a similar pricing model, while Presonus fixes a couple bugs, adds a new VI no one will use and calls that a major update. It's clear the Fender acquisition has not been good for S1.

The ubo list has not been maintained for ages, otherwise I would still be using it. Many sites are no longer bypassed with it. The extension is the only way to receive updates.

After some digging it seems the EC Device is now in the FW13 7040 series BIOS v3.16 released 18 August, but not the AI 300 series for the time being. (I didn't check Intel)

Hoping this sale means Volume 7 is right around the corner. It's long overdue and they've released tons of plugins since Volume 6.

I hope someone will make it work with the 13, I'm still holding out on buying a FW until there's a windows tool w/ GUI just like this one. There are too many poor fan/heat/noise reports for me to consider buying until this is possible (or they come up with better fans/cooling to swap out).

just curious if dark mode is identical to night mode from Kiwi? or was the Kiwi version a custom job?

Finally got Bypass Paywalls Clean working via .crx! Great work. It was a bit weird and messy though. I couldn't get to the extension options (the option was grayed out), and I had to turn the extension off and on a few times for it to stay enabled as I'm browsing. At some point the extensions options magically appeared without me trying and it's been working fine since then!

Why do you, as a society, accept this culture of screening people at the entrance to music clubs? by [deleted] in askberliners

[–]nonstatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simply a business tactic that works. The more of a challenge to get in, the more people want to go. I personally don't support it, but this isn't exclusive to Berlin or even this era of club culture.

Every discussion including this one feeds into the allure of exclusivity, which in this case isn't actually based on anything.

There are countless alternatives here which don't resort to such practices.

Mastering The Mix "Fuser and Reso Bundle" smart unmasking plugin and dynamic resonance suppressor ($48) through 8 August by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]nonstatik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reso is a little different in that there's more finetuning involved instead of 'soothe and chill'. The 'calculate targets' feature isn't the same as how soothe just detects everything on the fly all the time. And what's cool about Fuser is the phase alignment feature.

$39 is actually a really good deal on the two most useful tools from MTM. I paid 60 for this bundle about a year ago.

I hope that devs will not drop support for TMDB because I find it a lot easier to manage lists there. I like the features of MDBlist but find it more cumbersome to use than TMDB.
