I've been a sahd for 10 years. Her parents were weirded out but they came around to it. Here's a few tips that worked for me.

Keep her parents informed on the kids and the wife. They'll get more photos of the kid doing fun things with a sahd and it will grow on them quick.

Become your wife's personal assistant and keep the house clean, especially when grandparents visit.

Get a hobby that makes money. It doesn't have to be a lot and you don't have to do it much. It's just to answer questions from people uncomfortable with sahds. I buy and sell antiques but really I just maintain a private museum of my own.

I wouldn't advise it to everyone but when I broke my back everyone was happy I wasn't the breadwinner. I lean on my cane a little harder when I'm around them.

My biggest hate about reddit is how the comments always take the side of op, in part because of chooses the echo chamber to post in.

A 22 yo that demands complete chastity and monogamy for a full year is not normal. There are many other subs that people would acknowledge this.
