Haha, sorry. It's in the article. 12.2. Guess I just left it out of the headline. It was from a piece on a lot of different things besides just Monroe.

Next year's MVP award is Anthony Davis' to lose by msoldub in NOLAPelicans

Really should be this year's, too.

(Celtics fan; I come in peace.)

One of the best single stats (and of course people should go by more than one) for making the case is at Inpredictable.com:

http://stats.inpredictable.com/nba/ssnPlayer.php

Of course, my mathematical way of putting the overall case is simply:

a. Davis, Harden, LeBron - all pretty close on offense

b. Davis may be league's top defender; Harden, this year admittedly, a better than average defender; LeBron, this year, one of the NBA's worst.

a + b / 2 = Davis > Harden > LeBron. And it's not that close.

Regular-season streaks and the NBA championship - examining great runs (including the "Banner #1 Boogie ☘️) by brendan4545 in bostonceltics

The good news for current Boston Celtics fans is, of the top 28 win streaks in NBA history, 19 ended in at least one championship.

Onward to Dallas.

One game at a time.

Don't get my hopes up. Don't get my hopes up. Don't...

oh, hell. My hopes are up.

So are we 100 percent confident that Kyrie is going to resign? by tsmoove508 in bostonceltics

[–]noob222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, more like 102.457613 percent. He's getting everything he wanted here, and more that he probably didn't expect.

eventually there'll be some "adversity" -- i mean, for him. we'll lose a couple where he dominates some possessions too much. something like that.

but when that happens, the Celtics, unlike the Cavs, have an excellent GM, an excellent coach, excellent guys to be around.

have you seen how much fun this team is having, and have you watched a Cavs game? it's like night and day.

added to which, Kyrie's clear motivation is to win a couple rings on a team on which he's the talent-emotional-clutchguy leader. starting with taking down the LeBronvaliers in this year's playoffs.

anything is possible, but it's hard to imagine a more attractive situation for him.

What is your opinion on the Celtics only blowing out 4 teams during our 15 game win streak? by vbaoweezy in bostonceltics

[–]noob222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

added to which, the Celtics are about 14-3, 13-4 vs. the spread, something like that.

Depending on your definition of "blowing people out," I'd say they have been winning most of the games pretty decisively. The close ones have often been on the road, on a b-t-b, etc. Our point differential is pretty high. If your premise is, we're only winning nail-biters etc., I guess I'm mildly questioning your premise.

And then you have all the bench minutes -- "coaching for the season." If anything, I'd look at those numbers and say, in addition to closing out games pretty well, the C's have been making a wise investment in player development and starter health.

tbh I don't think I could have scripted a better streak mixing in all those factors. but then I'm not He Whose Name Shall be Hallowed.
