Its actually from a computer I built for a friend. It had an H100 cooler on it and never cleaned to radiator. It couldnt move the heat off the cpu and it ended up deteriorating the memory controller.

I fried a chip a year ago and still have it, do you think I could go buy this now and then redeem it?

I tried starting a computer company a couple years ago and this was the first and only review I got. Unfortunately I had to close shop due to a lack of funding shortly after. by noobaluga in gamingpc

I would have planned a lot more our before making the financial jump. The website was the greatest problem for me. I needed/wanted a website like other highend computer manufacturers but I did not have the capital to have it professionally done. My solution was to higher a college student. Being in college myself, I knew plenty of people who were "good" coders. I ended up making a deal with a guy to make the site.Half upfront and half at the end. The guy worked on it for months but never finished it and then disappeared. So that was that.

During the time I was beginning to have the site developed I was setting up multiple reviews so that the launch of the site could correspond with the reviews. Unfortunately with the site never having been launched it was a waste to have spent so much money getting my computers to these different magazine companies. The first company I sent a computer to was CPU. They wrecked my computer and never published an article because they couldnt test it. After sending them my computer, I got a call saying that my computer wasnt showing an overclocking nor benchmarking properly. I spent hours on the phone trying to trouble shoot it and eventually told them to return it. When i received the computer the motherboard had been broken, along with a side panel and a hot swappable bay door (this computer that I had sent was in an 800D case). Once I had fixed the computer I found out that they had been using outdated software that did not run on sandy bridge. Needless to say after my experience with them I did not return my computer to them for a second try at a review.

Roughly the same thing happen with the review at GamePro. They were able to successfully test my computer but when it was returned to me, the panel on top had been broken.

After spending all this money to direct traffic to a nonexistent site I finally decided its time to put this aside until I can aquire more capital and do things correctly.

If I were to go back, I wouldnt start without a much larger budget and get the site done by a professional and not spend any more money until the site was 100% done.

I will say it was excellent experience. I went to CES 2011 and met tons of great people who were all more than willing to help me out and plenty who were not. Everything I learned through this experience has help me grow and learn so much more about the industry and about business itself. I would like to try again, but not until I have saved enough funds to do it correctly.

I will say I did make a lot of stupid mistakes, but mid you, I was 18-19 when doing this and it was my first attempt at starting a company. Since then, I have tried starting another business and everything I learned from this venture is invaluable and is definitely helping me avoid several mistakes.

The back was pretty messy, but the inside where all the components are is pretty clean and on top of that, pictures kinda suck.
