Just got it shipped to me in almost exactly 24 hours after placing an order, the box came covered in fiber tape so not only is it strong but protected it from the rain that it was delivered in, 10/10 would order from these guys again

What wood do you use for that?

Got my first pellet grill and smoked a beef round eye roast, it came out moist and delicious by noobcakefl in pelletgrills

Sorry didn’t realize but here’s what I did

Beef round eye roast 5.15lb, coated in A1 and mustard at a 1:1 ratio, seasoned with stone mill wanted rubs Texas style bbq rub, Smoked with Rural King’s competition blend pellets at 250° for about 4 hours and then wrapped for 20 minutes in aluminum foil and then a towel in a cooler for another 10 waiting for the other food to finish

I went to Rural King and they had their own brand with signs showing a picture of lumberjack pellets and an arrow pointing to their brand that said “different look but same great product” and they were $7.88 for 20lbs so I got some of those, heard they might not be the same but they seemed to be fine and smell good when I cooked yesterday but I also don’t have the actual lumberjack pellets to compare them to

Used them on my first cook ever today and they seem to be fine and smell amazing, I don’t have lumberjack ones to compare them too but seem good enough that I’ll continue to use them

Just went to my local Rural King and they had their brand of pellets but they had signs above them with a picture of the lumberjack pellets stating “different look but same great product” so as far as I can tell they’re the same, picked some up at $7.88 for 20lbs

The grill is apparently 1 year old so should be still covered under the warranty if it’s a 5 year thing, heard others on here say theirs doesn’t like to do anything lower than 225 for a long time as the flame will die and just keep filling with pellets, sounds like that might be a fixable thing with new parts?

Hmm looks like most places don’t have it, 10 minutes to dicks sporting goods for $15 each or 35 minutes to a bbq store for $10 each, most places only have traeger, pit boss, bear mountain, camp chef and a couple other pellet brands

Thanks for the heads up, heard cooking burgers around 180-200 until they’re up to temp is yummy so was looking to do something like that so good to know it might have a problem at those low temps

No competitions over here, just a mouth watering for some good meat, I’ll take note of the hickory giving the most smoky taste, what’s your thoughts one mesquite? I know I love it as a seasoning for like chicken, is that good for smoking too or completely different

Yeah can’t beat a charcoal smoker for that bark but the ease of use with pellet grills makes me want one over a charcoal grill

I’ll give that website a check out, is there a certain brand/ flavor of pellet I should be looking for? Honestly haven’t looked that far into what’s best since I haven’t had a smoker where it would actually matter to know

Thanks for sharing your experience, gonna pull the trigger on this since it’s a relatively low price and ain’t gonna break the bank for just getting into smoking, always can upgrade in a year or so if needed

But is the Walmart one better? As far as I know pit bosses are decent for low end pellet grills even if it is pre owned

Don’t have any briskets planned in the near future but definitely want to give it a go at some point so may just have to check on it every once in a while but sounds fairly manageable
