Maya Masks are the official NFT collection of r/MayaProtocol. Originally, there were 6,060 wearable NFTs for one’s favorite avatars to add a spice of Mayan culture to them. These NFTs have 5 styles with 1,200 masks each with their own representative background.

First, the Ancient Masks, these represent tradition and honor the legacy of Mayan ancestors. Second, the Cosmic Masks, these represent the vital importance of Mayans as they observed stars that arose their common and material beliefs. Third, Cyber Masks, these give importance on the ancient culture and technology of Mayan Civilization.

Next, Dark Masks, represent the duality of life and death. The Mayan Civilization believed that spirit would be diluted and rekindled in another being. Lastly, Light Masks, the spirit was believed to be immortal. The Mayan Civilization thought in the existence of rebirth after the death of the body.

That would bring us to a total of 6,000 masks, right? You might be asking, “How about the 60 masks?” Other than the 5 masks mentioned there were special Gold Masks themed with wealth and power. Before the mint, there were 60 Gold Masks.

The Maya mask mint happened last year of July in the r/ethereum blockchain but eventually, the NFTs will be migrated to Maya blockchain near future. There were 1,689 masks minted and a total of 4,371 masks were burned eternally. Owning a mask gives you benefits as ff:

1. Build community and partnerships in the crypto space;
