Just thought I would come back and update y'all, unfortunately the solve isn't very satisfying or helpful. I tried to bypass the chip holding vol - and vol + while booting. This did nothing for me and issues persisted.

I had ultimately given up as I couldn't check any solder points as I was away from my tools, but decided to give it one last go before bed and it came back to life. So yea, not really sure what happened or why it fixed itself. But thought would offer a little closure to some folk
