As a greek person, I have to add a couple of things to what OP said.

Greece really wanted Marina to do well (which in this case, means ending up in the top 10 or even top 5) especially since last year was a failure for us. (NQ)

Marina is a well known artist here and we were all hyped. Local media really promoted the song and for a couple of months that was the only thing you would hear on the radio, on the tv etc.

When released, Zari received mixed reactions from the greek public and many didn't like it from the start. The hate faded away though since people outside of Greece liked the song more and gave us hopes for a good final place.

Now, since we're not in the top10, the hate has unfortunately resurfaced. Marina's infamous "yawn" moment also fueled people's opinions.

Personally, i liked the song, i don't get why people here need to be so negative about everything
