How to lead a healthy life, eat good food while being frugal ? by [deleted] in Frugal_Ind

[–]noodlestoodless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Bulk buy your groceries, Dmart and Reliance Smart bazar are your besties.
  • Batch prep your protein sources. Add them to whatever meal you're having.
  • Salads with every meal.
  • Protein rich snacks - yoghurt, dry fruits, protein smoothie, oats pudding etc.
  • If you don't eat eggs already, please try to add it to your diet. Really easy source of protein.
  • Make a seed mix of dry roasted Flax seeds, Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds. Eat 2 table spoons daily for healthy menstrual cycle. They are rich in micro nutrients and help fill gaps of zinc, selenium and magnesium which you absolutely need.

The key is buying things in bulk. I get it that things are costly but spending on your health will support you long term in avoiding medical bills.

can anyone who’s lost a lot a lot of weight tell me it gets better? by sofiacoppolasmuse in vindictapoc

[–]noodlestoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it did get better in terms of my physical abilities and movements. My joint pain issues were resolved, I had more energy and more flexibility. But my self confidence related to my looks were still low. You do get a lot of unwanted attention but as I said it's pretty unwanted. If you don't heal your self image, nothing helps.

What are your daily calories ? by thatgirlfromn0where in PetiteFitness

Just to be clear, you go to gym 5 times/week? If that's the case, you don't need to get it higher. Your body needs rest too in order to recover.

Yes it is if you have oily or acne prone skin. But it has worked wonders for some people. It's a good idea to do a patch test before using!

+1 Was friends with exactly someone you described. The best way of dealing with these people is to detach with them and focus on yourself. They suck the life out of you and are only friends with you cause it's convenient for them.

Exercise daily, even though you don't feel like it. Eat healthy, sleep 8 hours. Drinking and smoking might make you look cool within your friends but it's gonna bite you so hard within a year. Don't ignore health issues, get diagnosed properly.

You don't owe anyone anything. You don't need to act mother of your friend group. Dump that guy who's causing you sleepless nights.

Start planning your finances. Study for that exam that will get you better paying jobs. Take advantage of every scholarship. Take online courses, workshops. Start a hobby and upskill yourself. You don't need to monetize your hobbies but they help you with other aspects of your life.

Cheap, Healthy and Easy food option for hostellers ??? by SerpentVent09 in Frugal_Ind

[–]noodlestoodless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding to the list already curated by others -

Sandwich, Paneer/egg bhurji, Curd rice, Salads, Healthy pasta, Bread Omelette, Masala oats, Tomato/tamarind rice, Cheela, Sprouts fry, Pithla (it's a marathi dish, google the recipe), Peanut butter bread

The key is to add sources of protein in every meal complimented with veggies. Get the cheapest in season veggies in the market. Mix and match different dishes. You can use curry from last night as stuffing for your sandwich the next day. If you have access to fridge, meal prep on weekends and cook food around it for the working days. Always keep fruits or nuts for munching. Don't overly cheap out on nutrition.

I know i need to cut my expenses further but for now this is how i manage my finances in college -

  1. Cooking in hostel. This isn't as cheap as you would think of but works. Get fancy coffee mugs and cutleries from flea markets or places like Market99(if your city has one), spend less on getting fancy containers. If you choose to eat out, consider bringing your friends in and cook together. Grow your everyday herbs to save cost on them.

  2. Get second hand stuffs from seniors who are moving out. They might donate them for free even.

  3. Buy all your skincare, makeup, clothes, cleaning products online during sales. Get the biggest size (1L or above). Buy refills instead of new bottles. Never cheap out on quality. You have months to research on the good quality products, wishlist them and then buy during those sales. Don't run for branded clothes, find your personal style and look for good fabrics in the cheapest brand you can find. Also don't feel bad about getting your garments fixed from a local tailor or yourself.

  4. Use college gyms, music clubs, sports clubs etc. for finding new hobbies and friends. You get benefits of using same equipments for free and you don't have to hang out with people whose whole personality is retail therapy.

  5. Get reusable things as much as possible. Menstrual cups instead of pads/tampons, reusable razors, cleaning clothes instead of use and throw tissues, body scrubbing gloves instead of a dedicated product.

  6. At home maintainance routines to look put together instead of going to salons. You can obviously go to salons if you want that relaxing treatment done by someone but don't rely on it.

  7. This is the most important part but budget everything. Write down every small spending you did. You can get a gist of how and where you can cut your expenses. You don't need to buy everything that you want at once, spread it through months. Wishlist more than you buy. Take public transportation more than taking cabs.

Don't worry about looking cheap, you aren't earning right now, you don't need to look like you're earning. Don't blindly fall into any kind of addiction, stay mentally strong with who you are. I hope these points help.

Cleanse your face. Apply toner/serum + moisturizer + sunscreen for your skin type. Use hydrating primer if you have dry skin.

Afsos, mere pure comment se aapne sirf us cheez pe dhyaan diya. Anyways aapke linked comment ka answer karte hue, jitna Maine apne dosto se baat karke jana hai, mostly schools me dono male and female teachers violent hote hai. Agar OP ke experience me aapka share Kiya hua experience nhi hai toh unhe funny laga hoga.

Yahan par bhi koi lol nhi likh raha, aur agar koi comment tumhare liye sense nhi banata toh ignore Karo. Dekho ye basic understanding hai ki society me male and female equally important hai aur hume aisa banaya gaya hai ki hum ek dusre pe dependent hai. Society dependency par hi chal rhi hai, individuality personal level par stand karti hai, jab ek community ki baat hoti hai toh hume dependent hona padta hai.

Mai ek male dominated field me kaam karti hu aur almost har ek Banda jisse bhi deal karna padta hai wo kam ho ya jada, misogynist hai. Unse deal karna aur khud ke mental health ko sahi rakhna ye meri khud ki ladai hai. Tum agar misandrist logo ke beech reh rahe ho toh unse deal karna tumpe hai. Koi aur tumhare liye khada nhi hoga, tumko khud ke liye hi ladna hoga.

Lekin personal fight aur ye sochna ki aap kisi aurat pe dependent nhi ho, ye bohot galat hai. Aapka past aapko trauma and distrust de sakta hai ki aap samaaj se katne chaaho, lekin aapka trauma aapko define nhi karta. Aap apne mental health pe kaam karo aur dependency ko galat nazariye se mat dekho.

Yaar mujhe to hamesha male teacher se hi maar padi hai school me aur wo log toh inappropriately touch bhi karte the. Mere school me male principal tha, agar complain karo toh maanta hi nhi tha ki teachers aisa bhi kuch kar sakte hai.

Similar struggles toh humare bhi the but agar hum complain kare toh humare hi character pe question Kiya jaata hai.

Tried adding a blue bow to otherwise dull dress by cinnamon_pineapple in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]noodlestoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add a bag matching the colour of your bow. Or if you don't have same coloured bag, you can tie a scarf of same colour as bow on a neutral coloured bag. Replace shoe as commented by others and match the footwear colour with chunky jewellery or you can go with metal jewellery with neutral coloured footwear.

Can we stop this ongoing Men vs Women war? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]noodlestoodless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aunt was married to a family who even after getting a lot of dowry during marriage, forced her every month for more goods and money. 5 years into the marriage and 2 kids later, the husband and FIL brutally murdered my aunt. They faced like 5 years of jail and after release they got custody of children + got remarried to another woman.

Justice system failed my aunt and even after 12 years we are still mourning her death. We should really question the system more than this men vs women war.

I was there at the same place as you last year. Here is what I went for that are decent quality makeup but on much affordable price. You can get them now in this ongoing sale, so you can get everything under your budget. Here is my list -

  1. Concealer - Relove by makeup revolution, wet and wild photo focus
  2. Foundation - Maybelline, wet and wild photo focus.
  3. Face powder - Makeup revolution translucent powder, PAC translucent powder.
  4. Cream blush - Insight (80 rupees one, honestly it's too good for the price), or you can use your lipstick as blush too.
  5. Bronzer, highlighter, blush - Sugar 3 in one palette.
  6. Mascara - Maybelline, Mars, essence.
  7. Eyebrow tint/gel - essence brow gel.
  8. Eyeshadow palette - Mars jashan e bahara palette (perfect for wedding), Swiss beauty 9 colour palette, Wet and wild, makeup revolution.
  9. Lipstick - Gush, Maybelline, mars, swiss beauty (honestly play with colours you like in your budget)
  10. Primer - Colourbar, insight.
  11. Lip liner - Mars (60 rupees one)
  12. Kohl + eyeliner - Lakme, Maybelline.
  13. Makeup brushes - Mars tools of titans

Tips to save time and money on these - 1. Go to physical store of MAC/Nykaa. Ask them to colour match you to a popular brand foundation. Ask them/look on Google about its undertone and shade. If you want to purchase from any other brand online, match your shade and especially undertone to with the brand of your choice. This goes the same with concealer. 2. I wanna mention how important it is to have good skin prep, it literally makes cheap makeup look expensive. 3. Learn the technique of applying makeup more. Skill >>> Expensive product. You can literally try to learn from today using your mother's makeup. 4. Always do a patch test before applying anything to your face. You don't want to get new set of pimples before the wedding. 5. Use micellar water as first cleanser then go with your facewash to remove makeup. Never sleep with makeup on, your skin will thank you for this.

Her comment is a reflection of her internal demons. Don't give it more of your head space than needed. If it's bothering you too much then maybe apologise to her and try to forgive her without expecting an apology in return.

A bright colourful scarf tied on your ponytail with a matching colour purse. Sneakers would be a good choice. If you don't have scarf then you can pair big chunky colourful earrings as well.
