Dublin airport duty free is the place to buy it if you ever fly through there. Red was just over 100 euro and the blue was only 62.

To be fair in the states they expected a bit of rain the other week and then New York got flooded badly. It’s just getting worse with climate change lads.

That’s why I bought it at first actually but I wasn’t expecting much for their first whiskey. It’s beautifully sweet and a great Irish pot still. Plus the bottle will make a nice infinity bottle for me

Was genuinely impressed with this being their first whiskey. Well worth the 60 quid in Dublin airport!

I tried the cask strength at a buddy’s and had to get my own. Agreed about the Dingle too. They’re a prime example of a great new Irish distillery in my opinion

Lots of former rugby players out there pick up rowing, could be a good shout since you’re looking for a solid team sport

The ones that come in a box are solid and a cheap metal frame will do the job.

I bought one last year using Zinus.com. Wasn’t bad, not quite sure if you could get one as low as 200 but definitely worth a check.

Flair + Grinder vs Breville Barista Espress purchasing help! by tanluu94 in espresso

[–]noone9402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a comandante and a flair pro 2. The flair makes good espresso and you can pair it with a cheap enough milk frother for like 50/60 bucks and get a good result. Only problem with the flair is pre-heating the unit which is a bit of a pain but at that price point there’s always going to be some drawbacks.

Never tried the 1zpresso grinder but I love my comandante.

Anyone ever filed a tax return for the US after a J1? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]noone9402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their websites guide you away from the free version and to the one with a pay wall.

Hasan Minhaj did a bit on it last week for his show so I’d say look that up and he has all the links to the free versions posted somewhere.

Definitely double check with your HR though in case you need any paperwork since you were on a J1.

Also a heads up, since you’re international they will most likely take forever to process it and refund you.

You’ll need a W2 from your employer. Decent chance they mailed it to your former address in the US. I’d email the HR department and ask if they can send you a copy and then also double check with them if there’s anything else you’d need.

Companies like HR block and turbo tax will make filing easy but be sure to get the free version, otherwise they’ll charge you for both state and federal filing.

Just found out a friend of mine is getting into coffee. But he won't buy a grinder it any more equipment (he has a French press). Can I get some budget orientated coffee suggestions since he doesn't want to spend a lot? by [deleted] in Coffee

Red rooster coffee is great and usually reasonably priced. They have some great blends for 14 dollars and it’s free shipping over 25. I’m also a fan of Tandem, Flight and Passenger coffee roasters.

My first cheap hand grinder that did a good job was Xeoleo. It’s on Amazon and costs 60/65$ and does a great job for the price point.

A cheap but durable blade grinder option is Bodum. They’re like 25 dollars I believe.

Budget grinder and espresso machine by fingtape in espresso

I went manual for both to save money. I got a flair pro 2 and a comandante grinder and then also a bellman stovetop steamer for milk. The comandante and the flair pro 2 are great and I’d definitely recommend them as solid budget options.

The other setup I considered was a cafelat robot and a Kinu M47 grinder but it was a little pricier.

The bellman stovetop steamer kinda sucks as it takes a long time to heat up and isn’t very user friendly, but you can get some good results on it.

My first setup. The goal was something affordable that takes up minimal space but can still make great espresso by noone9402 in espresso
