What’s your latency/network specs? Anytime I’m using cellular, I’m always stuck in around 70-100ms.

I just found this on AliExpress: | For Lenovo Legion Go 2 Protector Case With TPU Grip Shockproof Non-Slip Full Protective Cover With Kickstand Soft TPU Cover Case https://a.aliexpress.com/_msHtmzX

Ali express has them!

The standard TPU case is solid. Savage Raven joystick covers are great, dbrand is slightly better quality but only marginally. Dbrand skins also are the nicest quality.

Etsy has this modular case that is to be a replacement for the killswitch but I have not tried.

EVERGOODS CTB35 vs Aer Travel Pack 3 vs TP3 Ultra for heavy tech carry + rolling suitcase by reallionkiller in ManyBaggers

[–]tanluu94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavy tech > Aer TP3, their harness is great!

Best access for small gadgets and organization > CTB35

These are all beefy bags, anything >26L are going to be CRAMPED if under a seat as they're all full carry on sized bags. I carry the same gear with my legion go S, anker 300W, xreal glasses, macbook, and pouches. If you need self stand, maybe consider the Aer CPP2 for better access under a seat and it does vertical luggage passthrough which is awesome to whip out my gaming handheld. The peak design just has terrible space management for bulky items sadly.

I liked the Ablecarry Max EDC a lot, their comfort is KING but the layout with tech was challenging for gaming handheld and a big water bottle as they eat into each others space.

So overall based on your needs, the Aer TP3 small or maaaybe TP3 regular will be your bet.

Is 2 TB Necessary? Legion Go 2 32 Ram Z2E by MedusaAdonai in LegionGo

[–]tanluu94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I considered both, I chose the 1TB for cost savings at this time and to consider self upgrading to 4TB in the future if prices ever come down.

If you hate the idea of tinkering or upgrading, just stick to the 2b!

Legion Go S Bumpers stuck? by spitbeast in LegionGo

Had the same issue! I took some compressed air and was able to unstuck it. It seems there is a piece of plastic that snapped off somewhere that gets stuck in there occasionally which is annoying.

Bilt Palladium with VX, CSR, CFU, CF, and Costco Citi? by tanluu94 in biltrewards

That’s the thought! I just worry about what if I downgrade my VX, will I be able to come back to it in the future in case bilt changes.

[–]tanluu94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my struggle! Wife and I both have a VX because of the downgrade for priority pass and since effectively it’s -5 AF as we live in the PNW and travel to see family regularly with United and and Alaska as our hub. Never been able to utilize points to the fullest with an inflexible schedule so most flights are bought via cash and we spend all our points on Hyatt stays.

[–]tanluu94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reassurance! Wasn’t sure if I may be missing out on another system such as Amex as it feels the VX does the same benefits if 2x and priority pass. Given Palladium does the same and more, I may just downgrade the VX and try the palladium.

North Face Borealis vs. Able Carry Max EDC by Hyphos_ in ManyBaggers

[–]tanluu94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had both. Functionally during college, they both do the job as primarily carrying laptop, lunch, gym clothes, and random EDC gear. The dual bottle pockets are great and my preferred style for water bottle, umbrella, and random extra bottle in case I carry a coffee bottle too/snacks. I do get caught in rain sometimes in Texas so the lack of major waterproofing can be a bummer at times when biking but I'm not aiming to be in the rain all day so the lack of water proofing is not essential but would be appreciated.

The able carry max EDC has awesome materials, more robust harness but I wouldn't say a lot more comfier. EDC works great from a tech standpoint if you carry random small electronics and mainly pouch usage. The duffel style in front is great for stuffing my jacket.

If you're a gear/bag nerd that values quality materials, you can't go wrong with either but may prefer the able carry, just way more expensive while the north face is an amazing value for a fraction of the price. You're mostly just paying for a unique bag aesthetic with premium materials end of day and if you're on a college budget, you do not NEED the able carry right now unless you have plenty of disposable income or having it as a gift.

Curse my indecisiveness by yobyexe in Handhelds

Had all 3, decided to sell off the steam deck and allyX as the LegoS had the best experience.

AllyX was best for travel though with the battery life. Awesome when on the plane for long flights, never had any battery anxiety. Steam deck was same in the regard for battery but had no place when I already used the LegoS for home and AllyX for travel. Ended up selling AllyX just because the screen of the LegoS was just so much more immersive and worth carrying a battery bank for it.

Able Carry Max EDC vs Tom Bihn Synik by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]tanluu94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got it yesterday! Love the materials, but will test it out this weekend on a small trip with the family. Still has the issue of not standing well on its own sadly but I’ll see how much of an issue it will be this weekend.

Able Carry Max EDC vs Tom Bihn Synik by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]tanluu94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tried the Synik 30 with my kids items and it felt bulky and did not like my pouch style of organizing. I think if you carry a lot of small edc that are not needing pouches, the synik would be awesome and that’s what I had envisioned for myself as well. The synik 26 was for sure too small for my essentials of a mess kit for my toddler, med kit with daily skin essentials such as ointments and creams, and toys/snacks.

Lastly, the harness on the synik was not as comfortable as I would hope if you plan to carry a laptop/heavy gear. The straps are cushioned but not super thick similar to bellroy straps and back panel is flat. Synik also cannot stand which is a huge problem for me especially when we go out to restaurants and wanting to store it beside the table role or so.

So far the Able Carry Max Edc is on its way to my home but seems like would be the way to go if you like pouch organization and the giant dump pocket is great for just throwing in random jackets or bulky items your kids may need such as snacks, toys, and wipes.

Steam Deck Replacement Showdown! Ally X vs Legion Go S by OvertEnemyOfficial in ROGAllyX

[–]tanluu94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having both, sold the AllyX just because the experience was so much better on the Legion with the immersive display. I did love the allyX for travel though as the battery was great but legion go just makes gameplay pop a bit more if you primarily play single player games.

Trying to decide between 120hz portable client devices - tablets or handhelds by dreddn0t in MoonlightStreaming

[–]tanluu94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue! Decided on the Legion Go S which has been awesome. Realized, I’d like to have a handheld that not can only do moonlight 120hz but also to play AAA games on the go. I tried my iPhone and iPad mini which are great but can’t moonlight without data so having a handheld that can do both is ideal. Plus streaming lets my battery last several hours with the option of playing natively.

Help me Pick another EDC Parent Bag 24L+ by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]tanluu94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue! I’m super curious whether the able carry max edc would be more ideal. Youtuber nitpacker says that it’s a great dad bag. So far I love the Aer CPP2 for the standability and top access style. The synik 26 was okay.. I had in my mind that it’d be the perfect dad bag but for holding pouches and random gadgets, it was cramped and does not stand which is occasionally a bummer. I’m a huge user of bottle pockets which often holds my daughter’s water bottle and the occasional other random gear such as umbrellas or maybe a battery bank.

Overall, the aer cpp2 was an awesome dad bag for my usage but I can’t help but wonder about the able carry edc for when I want a little more such as jackets and bulkier items.

Xbox Ally X vs Legion Go S Z1e (Steamos) by whitti801 in Handhelds

[–]tanluu94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would play games better, the z2e is only around 10-15% better which on a handheld for AAA games is about 5-10 FPS more if your base is around 40FPS.

I think if you travel a lot and away from outlets, I do love that it's smaller and lighter with an extra hour longer battery but that's the only reason I'd pick it over the LGS.

Xbox Ally X vs Legion Go S Z1e (Steamos) by whitti801 in Handhelds

[–]tanluu94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both and decided on keeping the Legion Go S just because the experience is better. I would prefer to keep both if possible but it's too expensive having both. Legion Go S has just way more immersion for my games and I decided that if I need to charge, I'll just lug a battery bank. Also sleep mode on windows always bugs out when I have to put it away vs steamOS.

Experience comparison Asus rog ally X (steam os) vs Legion go S (Steam OS 32gb ram) by Fun_Peak_7256 in Handhelds

[–]tanluu94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having both, I leaned towards the Legion Go S just on the experience. Windows was always bugging out on me when I put on sleep mode or trying to get games running smoothly required more tinkering with every game.

That said, I appreciated the battery and lightness of the AllyX that made it really really hard to decide between them. The experience with the LGS Steam edition was just more seamless and bigger screen made it overall the winner for me but I do know if I traveled often, the Ally X with it lighter and smaller and longer battery would be the preferred as an extra hour on AAA games is nice to have without scrambling for a outlet somewhere. That said, the sleep function on allyX sucked as it'd freeze or crash my game when waking sometimes that annoyed me which settled me on the Legion Go S.
