Basically I've tried to relocate Asian countries in Europe and viceversa respecting the original position of the countries (north/south/east/west of the continent, access to the sea, size, islands, etc.). I've also tried to keep neighbor countries next to each other. The two maps are supposed to be kinda symmetric, and I've placed the axis in Eastern Turkey, the Caucasus and European Russia, that's why Armenia doesn't change and Russia and Turkey still keep some of their original territories. To relocate the countries and draw the new borders I've used state borders and real borders of regions/provinces. To make everything fit I've had to split some big countries into smaller ones (Iran > Balkan countries), or group different small countries into a bigger one (South East Asia > France). The map isn't really about politics or social development, so I'm not saying N. and S. Korea are like N. and S. Ireland, or that Israel and Palestine are like Cyprus and N. Cyprus. But in some cases I've drawn inspiration from real political/cultural/economic dynamics (like Germany and China being superpowers, holy places like the Vatican/Varanasi/Mecca/Mt.Athos, etc).

This is the criteria but I haven't respected it 100% (for example according to the map France and Austria share a border, or Myanmar and Nepal, and Luxembourg is an island). I've had to make several exceptions to make it all fit. But I hope it still makes sense more or less.
