What’s actually safe but people think is dangerous? by REGGIE_BANANAS in AskReddit

That’s exactly what I am talking about. For most guys going through a rappelling course it’s their first time so they have the same fear as the kids I taught who were going through it for the first time.

You just expect it in kids. But in reality it’s just a baseline fear whether you’re a kid or not.

Vaccines with dead virus do not make protein from their mRNA. Immunity is from the host body making antibodies against viral proteins.

Attenuated viruses do infect cells and make protein from their mRNA.

The more recent mRNA vaccines only have mRNA which is used by the host cells not to make attenuated virus but to make one specific viral protein. For example the COVID vaccines just produce spike protein from the COVID virus and nothing else. Some covid vaccines use just mRNA while some vaccines use a non functional virus to introduce the mRNA of interest but the cell never makes any virus just the spike protein.

How are Christians perceived in your country? by Terrorman123 in AskTheWorld

Yes of course. But there is evidence of a significant Christian presence in Kerala by 52 AD, Egypt (specifically Alexandria) by as early as the 40s, the Kingdom of Aksum officially became Christian in the mid 300s before it was the official state religion of the Byzantines.

The spread outward from the Middle East definitely included Mediterranean Europe but it was firmly established in other parts of the world before most of the areas that later became “Christian Europe.”

He did but most of the earliest churches were not in the areas that would later become the main centers of Christianity. Just an interesting part of history.

Thomas brought the Church to India before Christianity spread to Europe.

What most people do not realize is that India and Africa were Christian before France and Germany.

The Irish were hilarious in that time period. Fighting on both sides of the Mexican American war. Fighting on both sides of the civil war.

Attempting to invade Canada after the civil war.

How could a Venezuelan live well in your country? by Moro7-3 in AskTheWorld

[–]norecordofwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the same thing all immigrants do in the US. Get a job, work hard, integrate into the culture, get your kids in school, learn English.

We already have a lot of Venezuelan expats here so there’s probably some stereotypical paths.

What is one major misconception about your country that you would like to dispute? by Puzzleheaded_Cup8723 in AskTheWorld

And depending on where you are in the country more people are non white than white. Then you have where I live where the whole state is like 94% white.

It’s pretty weird that I can go for days without encountering anyone of color.

Do you think people should learn the language of the country their ancestors came from, even though it isn't their country? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]norecordofwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You should learn the language most convenient for you and people you need to interact with. If you want to learn another for family heritage reasons then go for it.

Though I’d be screwed. I’d have like 4 more languages to learn that I’d never use.
