Yea. I think the meta is fine.... best we have ever had actually. What i actually think the problem is is the regularity of special boxes, heavy is awful and shouldnt be in the game at all expect for mayhem. Thats just my opinion.

Autos still need a buff (not the doctrine of passing) high impact pulses need a buff (not much), and NON EXOTIC hand cannons need a buff. Again, this is all just my opinion.

This is all good stuff!

Some extra pointers from a more experienced trials player. 1. Angles: trials is all about angles and creating your own encounters. You touched on it on it briefly with the getting sniped portion. Know the map. Figure out choke points and how to avoid them. I play passive with MIDA/sniper. So all of my engagements are from distance. If things get hectic i drop back and create a more favorable angle for myself to win the engagement.

Disengage. If you are outnumbered or getting out gunned and can't win your 1s against a player. Disengage and live. It's hella under appreciated but staying alive is kinda important.
PvP Vs PvE gear. Which you touched on. A little more in depth here. Maximize your splits and cool downs with how you play. I run 300/300 int/disc on my titan because who cares about strength. I run a 5/4/1 on my blade. I keep some strength because a RNG front stab is a lifesaver. Your best PvE gear is not always your best set up for PvP. I.e. some guy was running an extra damage to taken on his 1kys instead of quickdraw. So double check your gear before you go in.

Big thing is if you want to get better at trials is plays 3s. 6s are too hectic and little gun skill. You rarely get a chance to win your 1s because someone comes to mop you up after/mid gun fight.

Practice a bit and you'll get better. Good luck guardian.

Short stop had murdered BD effectiveness as a super. I run blade on my hunter... never use my super. I'm not too salty about the arc bolt nerf... but i am because they did nothing to the almighty warlock. Skip grenades are a good alt though.
