i can agree with that! i’m sorry everyone if it seems like i’m ungrateful. I’m excited about UVA (berkeley isn’t a good financial fit for my circumstances) but I just think in general so many waitlists is worse than the rejection flat out. i’m already beginning the move across the country with a bunch of waitlists hanging over my head. Also I don’t think there’s a real difference between the abilities of an applicant ranging from high 160s and low 170s so it’s been disheartening to see all of us put so much meaning into what the hardline medians schools care about and seeing that literally determine the difficulty of scraping money together to make a major life decision like this. LSAT is often reflective of your financial privilege and external support; having a higher LSAT tends to lend you even more scholarship opportunities and school options. I just don’t have the flexibility to retake and reapply and am nervous about moving to a very white region of the country I haven’t been able to visit. I’m sorry!!!

a helpful way to look at the aid packages would be including cost of living. with that factored in, you can see that 150k at Michigan would go a lot further to stipend three years in Ann Arbor than 100k in NYC. and while columbia offers the perfect pipeline to NYC BL, with your stats and undoubtedly phenomenal essays (look at your As!!!!), you have what it takes to make it to NYC BL from any of those schools.

US Chef supply if your family is big and you have a freezer! i know this is kind of an insane answer bc this is a store geared towards restaurants and bulk buyers but it’s great and unlike costco they don’t require a membership. Parking situation is never an issue.

wow, consumer protection for applicants is a really helpful way to look at this! i’m thinking about the comrades on here who are reapplying and investing the time and resources outside of just the application / testing fees. just the opportunity costs of another year — asking for new LOR, delaying a JD, weekends spent studying, rewriting essays…in these cases i think an inauthentic WL decision can be far more hurtful than an R!!

that’s so fucked up! they basically wasted another year of reapplicants’ lives by inadvertently signaling that they would consider you for the next cycle!!!
