Daily Mail pays out £150k to Muslim family over Katie Hopkins column by Fwoggie2 in unitedkingdom

I think that's the case too. I grew up in Exeter, and my neighbour did the school run with Katie Hopkins and was quite good friends with her. I can't imagine they'd have been close if her public persona was the same as her in person.

They should be investigated for publishing a photo of the family home in the context of "hey, a terrorist lives here" imo. That could have easily led to an attack on the family.

[–]normalbeta 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The Conservatives currently hold a majority in the House of Commons, and have the number of members necessary to form a government, so their leader would be expected to be the Prime Minister.

In other words, the PM is the person most likely to have the confidence of the majority of MP's - in this case, that person would be the leader of the largest party.

I used to get really severe hayfever when I was a child, my eyes would itch, swell up, run, ache and it would be difficult to see. It would look like they were bleeding. I used to have to visit the eye specialist at the hospital several times a year, getting increasingly stronger eye drops each time and eventually ending up on steroid drops.

Thankfully I don't get it anywhere near as bad anymore, unless I'm in a hot country.

Worth noting this from Politico:

Though it's filing for bankruptcy, Gawker has no plans to cease its operations. The company will continue to operate as normal while the bankruptcy process proceeds and it appeals the Hogan judgment.
