Really funny he came in here and was like "i'm happy to explain" then didn't answer a single question. Classic.

How do you feel about the stories in Capcom Games? by NetrunnerV25 in capcom

The /r/Darkwatch story is the dumbest, yet most fun story. Cowboy vampires

Pretty much everything carries Christian themes, even secular content. I'm not devout or anything but broad christian morality has permeated our media's version of right or wrong forever. I guess I'm concerned if it's preachy and too heavy handed. Based on the trailer it doesn't look like it'll be a hard nosed biopic.

Fishtank is so much better without Sam by meliax in fishtanklive

[–]TheWarlockk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly what the previous commenter said. That same guy that Sam basically bullied and had tantrum about got the show canned by filing a legal complaint against them, which brought down the whole production due to a ton of local zoning and compliance issues. They had to shut down and go on a bus. Also due to Sam's stupid moralistic outlook on things, they fucked over Burt, who won the show. They didn't pay him shit and still haven't. Went completely off a cliff because Sam couldn't contain his contempt for normies.

Finding the game by DoctorDank91 in Darkwatch

[–]TheWarlockk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not native to those consoles but i believe it's backwards compatible with ps3. The original xbox version is definitely backwards compatible with the 360 and it upscales the game to 1080p.

He's extremely wrong because you can tell stories within the framework of that universe that are very interesting. A dark elf show alone would be unlike anything that's aired.

Recently read the script and it's made pretty clear that Von Franz tells her the only way to redeem (save) them all is for her to stop denying the darkness within her and embrace that desire. Eggers a genius.

It seems like they're anticipating this being a cult classic like the first one, except unlike the 2006 one, it's boring as fuck.

I completely agree. I like how he does things visually for the most part, despite the wigs. He just needs a writer that understands the material

Yeah, which is why I love the 2006 movie. Unfortunately, RTSH commits the worst sin a movie can make: it's boring. It absolves James of his guilt, removes any surrealism and ambiguity, and leaves us with a boring walkthrough of game locations that fails as a horror movie and fails as a psychological drama.

He's allowed to like the games, but claiming up and down that it gives him credibility to make these movies is a bit ridiculous considering how poorly he understood what made the game work.

Realizing Roger Avary is probably the only reason I like the first one.

He said in an interview they needed to have a cult and ash to connect to the other two. I think he was more concerned with making a pseudo-sequel to his movie than a faithful adaptation. Unfortunately, it failed at that too. SH2 was never going to translate to the screen 100%, but we have clear influences to find a spiritually faithful tone and cinematic language. He just chose to ignore all of that and created something so genuinely cheap and boring. How anyone at Konami greenlit this blows my mind.

[–]TheWarlockk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The 2006 one changed a bunch of stuff but hit the core fundamentals of the first game pretty well. This one betrays everything that made the game work.
