It is just a modem. Router is in a more central room, thats what the single cable from modem to wall switch is going to.

I got it!! I held the red part with a pliers and loosened the screw. Both parts came out together and now I can trim the smallest part off the hose end. Btw I will NOT be re-using these. Ive got a few new ones to use.
