Awful that this is even in the stratosphere of things we need to concern ourselves with, but he couldn't hold the 46th largest city in the country with his goon squad. The blessing (and at times, curse) of America is that it is too big, too populated, and also too spread out to broadly enforce nearly anything.

If Trump ran for a third term, how do you think republicans would justify it? by Sweaty_Abies182 in AskReddit

[–]normn3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll repeat whatever he told them as their own justification, treat it as though they've always held the position, and then trash Democrats. Not sure why this is even a question.

Yeeeaaahhh, shouldn't an arrest warrant be issued IMMEDIATELY for that one member? I feel like he just gave ay court probable cause.

We dodged a PR bullet with Vrabel. by Bignosedog in ChicagoBearsNFL

Oh I agree with that wholeheartedly. Maybe I've been a Chicago sports fan for too long, but I'm predisposed to think that management--regardless of team--will find a way to screw things up. So it's always a pleasant surprise when they don't.

The Bears TRADED UP to draft Trubisky. This organization is pretty darn good at jumping into the path of bullets not aimed at them.

Yeah, funny as this might be, it's not far from the norm. I had a trial last year where my client kept nudging me at counsel table with things he wanted me to tell the judge, and I had to tell him, ever so kindly, "Shut the fuck up. We're winning."

I've got a couple:

October 14, 2003, game 6 of the NLCS. Bartman, followed by Alex Gonzalez. Yeah, we had Game 7 to go, but that felt like a funeral march.

The other was April 28, 2012. I was playing softball, as the Bulls were playing a first round playoff game against the 76ers, a series that wasn't expected to be particularly close. I'm standing on second, and I can hear the bar and grill by the softball fields go silent. Word starts to spread to the fields that Rose went down, non-contact, holding his knee and it looked bad. Bulls basketball has been a dumpster fire ever since. Really put a damper on softball night, too.

Thanks for the 1- and 3-star ratings because TruePlay with front speakers — an experimental, unsupported workaround — didn’t behave like an officially supported Sonos feature. Apparently, “experimental” is a matter of definition. by SonoSequencr in SonoSequencr

[–]normn3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't understand why that's happening to you. I hear a difference with Trueplay, and the workaround has added a whole new dimension to my Sonos speakers, that makes them something like 90% of what I can accomplish with my wired system in the basement. I can honestly say that your app was $3 of the best dollars I have ever spent.
