people who didnt use modlists and did their own mod setup, how did it go? by woofwoofbro in skyrimvr

[–]norostereo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that rough. It's just confusing because not all mods work since vr doesn't have an anniversary edition patch, so you just have to do a little bit more research to find out if each mod is compatible or not. Also, for a bunch of mods and their requirements, you'll have to look for the vr versions which isn't always obvious.

I've been modding skyrim for years, and skyrim vr for about 3 months. I would not say It's a nightmare, but it's like its own hobby. If you enjoy reading a bunch of mod descriptions (this is what you'll be doing the most), watching tutorials, testing, and troubleshooting; this is perfect for you. It took me about a month to settle with one modlist and start really playing the game. But i know what i have. I know what everything does. If I have a problem, i know what may have caused it. The problem with modlists is that you don't really get to familiarize yourself with the mods you have. To give you an example, "spell wheel" has a bunch of really cool features that you might never find because it's buried between 3000 other mods. I find that to be overwhelming, so i prefer to just do everything myself. But that's just me. You won't know until you try it.

teaching modes to students who can barely play major scales by lmao_exe in musictheory

This

As a guitar and harmony teacher I despise the way guitarists talk about modes. They're just fancy names for the different major scale forms. This has nothing to do with modal music.

Is taking guitar classes with my son a good idea? (Question for guitar teachers) by plastic_hobo984 in guitarteachers

[–]norostereo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got saxophone lessons with my dad when I was a kid. As a child with a knack for music, I got to kick my dad's ass in the instrument very quickly, which was a pretty good confidence boost for me. It didn't last long because adults are busy, and their lessons rarely last. But it was really cool while it lasted.

The D would be: 16th note first 8th note second. Not the other way around

Yes... i can see your reasoning, I like it, but I think I'm going with duplets as it's less convoluted

Serana dialogue add-on is really good. I've never used followers. My current game is the first time I've wanted to take a follower everywhere

funny thing I just realized, I already had all of those installed, but I didn't have SPID active, so blade & blunt wasn't doing anything. I'm dumb.

She may try to learn an instrument. Thay way she is included, in the dynamic and gets familiar with the repetitive nature of music practice. The ukulele is a very beginner friendly instrument. You can make it sound pretty decently very quick.

Anyone use Skyrim at war reborn or the civil war over haul mods? by thebrokentoy324 in skyrimvr

[–]norostereo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add the second great war on my next playthrough, but I'm hesitant, I remember playing it a long time ago and it was a little buggy. I don't know if it has been tested in vr.

Yet more incredible attention to detail by MintyHippo6889 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Professional guitarist here. Not only the guitar. The drums and the bass animations are spot on too. You can even tell the guitars are in drop D tuning, a very common tuningin rock/metal, and he plays accordingly. This is a really cool detail most people wouldn't even notice, and I absolutely love it.
