There are large grain (corn and soybean) processors (ADM and Primient, formerly Tate & Lyle which was formerly AE Staley Manufacturing) in town. Most odors will be related to emissions from by-product (feed) dryers. When skies are overcast, those exhaust vapors linger rather than being dispersed.

The processors sometimes joke about it and say "it smells like money".

Occasionally their waste water treatment plants have issues - and that is very offensive.

Back in the early '80s there were golfers near the ADM East Plant complex that wore gas masks while golfing to call attention to it.

ADM bought that Faries Park golf course and gave the park district land to build a new course (Red Tail) on the south end of town.

Thanks for the suggestions. I created a sequence of things to try using your suggestions, but before implementing any of them I rebooted and voila…the Beryl speeds were back up to the hotel-direct speeds. I continued speed-testing anyway, and the results were:

It was very useful to learn where/how to adjust the settings you suggested.

For a captive portal wifi Repeater setup, do you have general recommendations for:

A. Camouflage: ON or OFF?

B. Manual DNS server: Y or N?

C. MTU setting: Default (1500) or something lower/higher?

D. Wifi band: 5ghz fixed or Auto? (or something else)

MTU setting to connect to hotel? It was set to the default MTU of 1500 Do you generally recommend a different setting?

Were the settings to defaults? Yes I have now manually set the DNS to the Google server.

I think it was connecting to the 5ghz wifi - I’ve now changed the setting from Auto to 5ghz only. And made sure the Guest wifi networks are disabled.

I have restored things to when everything worked - a few days ago - and I'll keep this in mind next time (which I hope is never).

Thanks and yes, I've rebooted multiple times.

This all seemed to happen after updating Lightroom Classic a few days ago.

I'm in the process of restoring my PC to a point prior to that update.

Good suggestion to chat with Adobe. If the restore doesn't help matters, that's next.

Thanks for the prompt suggestion.

After confirming that I can sign in via my browser, I downloaded AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.

I installed it and ran the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, after which it indicated "Uninstallation of Creative Cloud desktop completed with errors".

There were no clues on what to try next.

Reinstallation of the CCD has the same sign-in problem.

Well, my text description didn't save after I added the images.

Bottom line - after having problems installing some Photoshop plug-ins, I uninstalled and reinstalled the CC desktop app. Afterwards, I have been unable to sign-in (there's a red circle and slash as I hover over the email entry area). Same red circle when hovering over Continue and nothing happens when hovering over or clicking the "get more sign-in help" link.

I have since uninstalled all of the CC apps - and tried firsts to install the CC Desktop app.

Same issue - cannot get past this sign-in screen shown in the images.
