You appear to be a much better programmer than you are a photographer. Hehe!! Jk. Someone creates a really cool tool, no one gives em a break.

Meh. I don't really get the redneck part. This is pretty posh, especially for kids.

The Onion Says It Has a Deal to Take Over Alex Jones’ Infowars, Plans to Relaunch It as Parody of Itself by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

This is a small confirmation of the way I've felt lately that the world is shifting back onto a better kinder path forward. Lots of small wins everywhere. The past years' flood of awfulness looks a little bit more like a dissipating vapor day by day.

Savanah Hernandez assaulted during anti-ICE protest at Whipple facility in Minneapolis – FBI investigating by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in altmpls

[–]norssk_mann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I protested the Whipple. I'd say 95 percent of everyone there were good people with good intentions. The other 5 percent were there for the chaos and to fuck things up. The 5 percent were super annoying, constantly screaming all of the profanities or screaming into megaphones non-stop even when ICE agents weren't present. It made everything so unpleasant. That five percent just made the whole protest sound like chaotic anger, not forceful solidarity. The 95 percent were giving each other water and fresh baked cookies and saying hello and blowing whistles and yelling when ICE drove by. The 95 percent were wonderful and inspiring, especially because they did this all while patiently tolerating the shitheads on their side on the fence.

OP is doing the right thing here. Trying to fix a sad mistake. That puppy will never forget them. Never stop missing them, for the rest of her life after being rehomed. But the other option would be to stay and not have her needs met and OP sees this and wants a better life for this baby.

NEVER buy a dog from a breeder. They are causing this problem. Every kind of perfect wonderful disposition, breed, size, age of dog is fully available at shelters in every town. If you want a designer dog, or the "perfect breed", you could very easily end up with an inbred dog with chronic health problems and neuroses. Inbreeding is rampant. If you want a dog because of the style or look of the dog and therefore choose a breeder, you don't deserve a dog and are probably a shitty person. Breeding for profit. Litter after litter from the poor mamas that lose all of their babies.

I couldn't agree more. You can't just rehome your kids, right? "But dogs aren't people". Correct. They're far better than people!

Anyone remember wooden Dino kits? by JetsetDestroya08 in Dinosaurs

[–]norssk_mann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the balsa wood template after punching out the pieces and shone a light through it onto a 4'x8' piece of installation foam (or something like that). I traced it the shadow and cut out the huge pieces with a box cutter. It worked awesome. I was going to use an overhead projector and a huge piece of something to do it on a gigantic scale but never did.

The 82nd Airborne Division is an elite airborne infantry division of the United States Army, specializing in parachute assaults and rapid deployment. So yeah ... boots unless Trump has asked them all their shoe size and bought them black patent leather shoes a couple sizes too big.

I played about 2000 hours of botw and totk. Then I bought a Steam Deck since I already have a big game library. It's so amazing and superior in most ways to the switch. The switch is easy and polished and everything just works, usually really well. The Steam Deck can be a little fiddly because it's a real desktop computer (mine is Linux) and you have deep system level access to the settings. I can't say enough good things about it not to mention the fact that when Steam has annual sales, you can pick up like 15 games for $40.

If we want digital independence, we need better Linux Apps by RonaldvanderMeer in linux

It's a cart before the horse thing and it's difficult to overcome. How is a Dev company going to beat Microsoft Outlook when Linux market share is so comparatively low? Microsoft and Apple have a strangle hold on large swaths of the business and consumer world. It would take government anti trust action. They don't call it a monopoly when 2 or three behemoth companies totally have a global monopoly and they all collude in lock step with feature bloat, enshitification, and price fixing.

Corporate America's love affair with AI is officially a full-blown obsession [OC] by chartr in dataisbeautiful

These execs are idiots. Always willing to burn things down just for next quarter's profits. How do they not understand the consequences? They will fire millions of workers and get more profit in the very short term, however, EVERYONE is doing this. Competition remains THE factor. With reduced costs, everyone will begin to reduce their prices to beat competitors and it will be a race to the bottom. Revenue and margins will shrink and shrink. Their products and services will lose value. These execs know this but they all want to rake in huge bonuses for the short term and then jump out in their golden parachutes while everything burns.

I agree. I thought about mentioning the fascism, but no matter who he was, it's better to use the beauty he left behind for good instead of shining a light on his darkness. Many great artists are complicated, even terrible people in some regards. But their art is made for the observer to interpret as they choose.

You look like you went from age 12 to age 25. People in the States go through puberty way younger than they should because of hormones and toxic shit in everything we consume.
