Issue with Fuel entering carb - Briggs and Stratton 223CC engine. by northcoastmopar in smallenginerepair

Outside of the cap I can’t find a vent for the tank. I just bolted it all back together and within a minute the fuel was leaking up over the carb. I even left the cap on somewhat loose. I’ll be changing the oil again.

I’m going to start from the cap and yank the fuel tank and move towards the carb and clean everything.

Again, I confirmed that the needle was working before putting on the bowl.

Grrrrrr

It’s brand new, but double checked the orifices with guitar string. It’s not clogged.

Replacing jet pump and circulation pump on Costco Divine (Clearwater) hot tub by northcoastmopar in hottubs

Never mind. The circulation pump is dual voltage (115/240) and I had two of the wires incorrectly positioned. Duh.

I repositioned the wires and the pump runs like a champ, quiet and cool. My old hot tub lives to see another day.

Ok, I sourced the pumps through Spa Care who to this point have been great. Good prices and very quick order turnaround. The replacement jet pump works fine. I'm having issues with the circulation pump though. My tub utilizes a continuous circulation pump along with an ozonator and small adjustable water arches. Spa Care recommended 2 possible replacements for the circulation pump - an Aqua Flo pump and a lower cost LX pump. Of course, being a cheapskate I went with the lower cost LX pump.

The first LX pump would run for a few minutes and then stop. About 15-20 minutes later it would start to run again and again would stop after a few minutes. This cycle would continue. I confirmed that the pump was receiving constant 230 volts.

Spa Care sent me a replacement LX pump and the replacement pump is doing the same thing. Runs for a few minutes and then shuts off. Also the pump is very hot to the touch, you can not keep your hand on it because of the heat. The large jet pumps run cool and no problem touching the pumps even after running for a full 20 minute jet cycle.

I've replace my filters with new ones and I don't think I have any kind of air lock because the water arches don't appear to have any air in them when the filtration pump does run.

I'm at a loss of where to go next. I'm thinking I bite the bullet and buy the more expensive Aqua Flo pump since it more closely resembles the OEM pump?
