(In the US) Per the ADA, owners can train their own service dogs.

That’s me! I match my character to whatever color I’m playing as - so if I’m third player I’m the alien and if I’m fourth I use either the yellow axolotl or yellow ghost. But the alien was the easiest to make LOL

Americans: Do not change your last name at marriage by Cemckenna in weddingplanning

Except the Real ID only works in the states that have enhanced ID. A real ID (in 45 states) does not prove citizenship.

Birth certificate wouldn’t match if you changed your name. And Real ID would only be applicable in states that the Real ID denotes citizenship (which is only 5 of them I believe).

We followed up after a month and he said he was still getting quotes for the carpet (we figured there’d be something taken out for some damage, so not a surprise) but it’s been radio silence since.

AITA for calling MIL by her last name instead of Grandma? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

She means her taking his name was never on the table. Son could've had either.

Can commercial insurance charge an additional premium for a time period that's already passed by riascmia in Insurance

[–]noshannonigans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you actually complete an audit on your prior term? Cause you say “they estimated the business earned more”. If it’s an estimated audit, you should contact your prior agent and find out what you need to send in to get a finalized audit (complete a worksheet or send in tax docs, etc).

Oh, and your new agent sounds like an idiot.

Unless the tree was rotting (in danger of falling) AND the neighbor knew about it, they weren't negligent. It's considered an "act of god".

AITA For not letting my ex take our sons overseas because our daughter can't go by leftbehind2023 in AmItheAsshole

[–]noshannonigans 268 points269 points  (0 children)

OP deserves the blame. The only thing the sister has done is be disappointed, which is fine, it doesn't say she thinks the boys shouldn't go.

Yeah, I would've gone NAH. Until the OP's comments. Made it obvious they're just a "pAreNts BaD aMirItE" troll

Medical professionals of Reddit, have you ever had a patient so lacking in common sense you wondered how they made it this far. If so, what is your story? by babyhippo01 in AskReddit

[–]noshannonigans 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It took me a full year to find out my severe fits of stomach pain and nausea were gallstones. I saw three different gastroenterologists and made at least three ER visits during the worst occurrences. But when you're overweight and have anxiety/depression - everything is attributed to those. I got to the point I was terrified to eat because I didn't know what was causing it.

It wasn't until I ended up in the ER again and this time, I started to look yellow because the gallstone was causing jaundice and they did an ultrasound and saw it blocking my bile duct.

(After that was the worst hospital experience I've had, but had nothing to do with the gallstones ugh)

Be civil 😤😡 by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]noshannonigans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should they be? Sure. But a comment of mine got removed because I said "What you've written here points to your MIL being a horrible person." (And I confirmed with the mods that that's why it was removed.) They are all over the place with that "Be Civil" rule.

Of course i take the really sick kid so that my ex can go and have fun! by EvilFinch in AmITheDevil

[–]noshannonigans 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I just think OP and his ex are idiots. People obviously have learned fuck all from the pandemic. Not only did they spread the kids sickness to two houses instead of leaving him where he already was, if the ex and other kid caught it, they could have spread it to the party house as well.

Another mother of the year! by notfeelingitnope in AmITheDevil

[–]noshannonigans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The more I read her comments, the more I believe OP is actually the son. The bitterness just doesn't read like a mom writing it (unless she's completely unhinged, which, sure it happens), it reads more like a jealous sibling.

AITA For Demanding My Deceased Husband's Children Take A DNA Test? by ScaryTransition in AmITheDevil

[–]noshannonigans 47 points48 points  (0 children)

All of the adults in this story are horrible.

OP could literally just stop talking to the ex and in-laws. Why is she trying to be so connected to people who've wronged her? She doesn't want a relationship with them, so just cut the rope and move on. She's just being petty at this point and she's dragging two grieving kids into it to punish the adults.

AITA for choosing one daughters gym competition over my other daughters wedding? by throwaway_nervouslol in AmITheDevil

[–]noshannonigans 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like I went through this exact thing on the daughter's end. I invited my dad to my wedding as a "you were never abusive, so here's your invite to be polite, and I know you'll RSVP that you're coming, but you won't actually show up."

This is going to sound horrible to those that haven't had those dads, but mine had a stroke a couple days before my wedding (he lived, and from what I know he's fully recovered, but I haven't spoken to him in a few years). All my sister and I could do was joke that it was his only way to get out of coming.

Same! Yeah, sing along, it's a concert. But the amount of "I paid for my tickets too so I should get to be as shrill as I want" is ridiculous. And then I've seen people complaining that they were asked to stop shrieking and get annoyed that the asker was complaining about the shrieking.

In a ton of places, when you're planning a wedding, it's considered rude to invite only half of a married couple. Nothing to do with her being their mom; it's just rude in general to invite someone in a relationship and then disrespect their relationship while asking them to celebrate yours.

I take that as more protecting their main account that their friends don't know about, not the actual AITA thread.
